Nokian Tyres has announced that it is taking appropriate measures to manage the COVID-19 outbreak, while at the same time taking necessary steps to ensure continuity of business.

Nokian Tyres and Vianor are constantly monitoring the current situation and have taken the required measures for its employees, business operations and customers.

As noted by the company, it is prioritizing the health and safety of employees, while trying to keep the impact on customers to the minimum.

As of now, the company is adhering to the guidelines issued by local governments in every area that Nokian Tyres operates in. It is also keeping a close watch on the latest updates issued by health organizations across the globe.

To ensure safety of its employees, Nokian Tyres has temporarily halted all business-related travel. Additionally, employees have been asked to refrain from conducting face-to-face meetings. In all the roles where possible, Nokian’s employees are currently doing remote work in most of the countries where it operates. In Russia, the company is taking measures to prepare for remote work opportunities.

Observing the COVID-19 safety norm, Nokian Tyres has also issued self-quarantine rules for all staff members who have travelled internationally to high-outbreak regions, whether for business or for leisure. The staff members are required to quarantine themselves for 14 days after they return.

Nokian Tyres has activated its global Business Continuity Program ever since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak. It has taken extra precautions to continue deliveries to customers. Visits to factory locations are prohibited in the meantime.

There has been no impact of the current situation on the raw material supply chain of the company. The suppliers are operating as usual. Even though Nokian expects transportation delays, it currently has safety stocks and a list of back-up suppliers to mitigate risk to production. The company intends to continue responding according to the regularly changing situation.
