Automotive coatings manufacturer Axalta presented its colour of the year, the luminous golden-brown toned Sahara, in spectacular fashion at the SEMA Show.

The 1966 Dodge Charger, owned by couple Doyle and Karen Thomas, was entirely restored by Mike Rutterz. The husband and wife team got their first look at the result at the same time as the enthusiastic crowd in attendance at the Axalta booth. The unveiling of the spectacular vehicle brought tears to their eyes.

Since 2015, Axalta has proceeded to announce the colour of the year based on ever-evolving consumer tastes and trends. According to Axalta specialists, consumer preferences seem to be trending towards warmer tones.
