AMSOIL has announced the addition of its new Upper Cylinder Lubricant to its Gasoline Additive product lineup.
As explained by the company, the intense heat of combustion and the design of modern vehicles make it tough to lubricate the upper cylinders of an engine. Therefore, the newly released AMSOIL Upper Cylinder Lubricant is designed to provide the required protective layer to this problematic area to aid in reducing piston-ring and cylinder wear and consequently maximizing engine compression and horsepower.
AMSOIL notes that the product features lubricity improvers that contribute towards protecting fuel injectors and other components of the fuel system against wear. This in turn aids in longer life and better performance. AMSOIL has carried out independent testing of its Upper Cylinder Lubricant Gasoline Additive against certain competing brands. As per the results obtained, the company states that its product delivers 18 percent more lubricity than Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant and 20 percent more than Sea Foam Motor Treatment for better retention of horsepower and fuel economy.
AMSOIL notes that its new lubricant features “potent corrosion inhibitors” that are had a protective coat to metal surfaces, block out moisture and prevents deterioration from taking place. The company explains that this feature is especially useful when gasoline that contains ethanol is used. Ethanol has the tendency to attract water, thus speeding up the corrosion process. AMSOIL notes that protecting against corrosion aids in increasing the life of the equipment while decreasing the wear in the engine’s top-end to protect against compression loss and maintain performance.
To help maintain injector cleanliness, AMSOIL’s new lubricant contains detergent additives. The company has designed its new product to be used with its AMSOIL P.i. Performance Improver (API). AMSOIL explains that this will help in keeping the injector and combustion chamber clean. Additionally, it will contribute to maintaining fuel-economy, improving performance and maximizing equipment life.
Since several latest model vehicles now have capless systems instead of the traditional fuel caps, AMSOIL has seen to it that its Upper Cylinder Lubricant bottle is completely compatible with them. The company notes that the threads present on bottles often prevent them from opening the flap inside the fuel neck. Removing the bottle also becomes an issue. Therefore, AMSOIL has packaged its product such that users are able to insert, pour and remove the bottle easily.
AMSOIL is offering its Upper Cylinder Lubricant in 6-ounce (177 ml) bottles. The company recommends using the product in passenger cars and light trucks. Up to 25 gallons of gasoline can be treated with one bottle. The product can be safely used with catalytic converters and gasoline containing up to 15 percent ethanol.
