AIA Canada has announced the release of its latest report ‘Under the Hood: How Canadians View Vehicle Maintenance and Repair’, for the benefit of automotive service providers.
The report is available free of charge for AIA Canada members, while non-members may purchase it for $199.
As explained by the association in a statement, automotive service providers need to have a good understanding of the customer’s point of view regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs. It is also important for them to be cognizant of the varying perspectives across different segments of the market. AIA Canada notes that to earn the trust and loyalty of customers, it is essential to be able to identify which customer prefers quality and which customer hopes for the cheapest repair.
AIA Canada has conducted a survey of vehicle owners to put together the newly released report. The report looks into different behaviours, attitudes and preferences of customers when it comes to vehicle maintenance and repair.
Questions explored in Under the Hood: How Canadians View Vehicle Maintenance and Repair’ include:
- How important maintenance and repair is to vehicle owners;
- How vehicle owners are reminded and would prefer to be reminded of the maintenance their vehicle needs; and,
- The cost/quality trade-off for specific parts of their vehicle.
As stated by the association, this report is a part of AIA Canada’s Consumer Behaviour Series. It plans to release other reports exploring topics such as choosing a service provider, e-tailing, and ownership and sharing of in-vehicle data.
