Spectra Premium will be front and centre (literally) on two Toyota Tundra NASCAR trucks racing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in the Gander Outdoors Truck Series, Chevrolet Silverado 250 this coming weekend.
The trucks, #4 driven by Todd Gilliland and #51 driven by Alex Tagliani are being prepped by Kyle Busch Motorsports and will sport Spectra Premium high-performance radiators as well as Spectra Premium sponsor logos on the flanks.
“We are proud to participate in the sole Canadian event of the NASCAR Trucks series for the third year in a row,” said Jason Best, Senior Vice-President, Aftermarket at Spectra Premium. “As both sponsor and manufacturer, we have high hopes for the top of the podium with two drivers who know the track very well and had great runs in last year’s edition. Good luck Todd and Alex!”
Last year, Gilliland was a corner away from securing his first career win in the NASCAR Trucks series. Unfortunately, an altercation caused him to drop back to 11th place.
On his side, Tagliani finished in 10th place last year and scored a top-5 finish and two poles in the previous years.
This weekend’s event will mark the fifth time that Spectra Premium has been featured on a race truck this season, having previously adorned the Kyle Busch Motorsports’ # 46 truck driven by Raphaël Lessard. The rookie drove the Toyota Tundra to a 12th place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn, on August 15.
Spectra Premium introduced its high-performance radiator this year and it was first used in competition when installed in Lessard’s truck at the Dover race back in May. The automotive parts manufacturer will be looking for a second win in the series for its racing radiator, following # 16 Austin Hill’s victory in Michigan on August 10.
Tagliani will perform a double-duty this weekend at the same track. With Spectra Premium as one of his sponsors, the full-time driver in the NASCAR Pinty’s series will also be trying for his first championship (he’s currently running in fourth place in the series).
