MAHLE has announced the addition of a new business unit for electronics and mechatronics.
The company’s Management Board will simultaneously reflect these changes, effective from January 1, 2020.
“In taking this step, we’re actively reinforcing our innovative strength in the field of alternative drives,” says Prof. Dr. Heinz K. Junker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MAHLE GmbH. According to a statement by the company, MAHLE’s electrics and electronics activities have remained concentrated in its Mechatronics division, which has considerably grown over the years.
“By transferring these activities into a business unit and combining it with the product areas of compressors and pumps for strategic purposes, we are focusing all our efforts on further growth and the ongoing development of our product portfolio for the mobility of the future,” adds Dr. Jörg Stratmann, CEO of the MAHLE Group.
The new business unit will be function under the leadership of Wilhelm Emperhoff, who currently oversees the operations of the company’s Filtration and Engine Peripherals business unit, the Mechatronics division, and the Pumps profit centre. The current Mechatronics division, the Compressors profit centre, and the Pumps profit centre will function within the new business unit in the future.
MAHLE’s Supervisory Board has appointed Martin Weidlich as Emperhoff’s successor. Besides leading the Filtration and Engine Peripherals business unit, Weidlich is now a member of the MAHLE Management Board.
