Hunter Engineering has announced the launch of its first-ever optional harsh-duty version for its standard RX scissor lift racks.

Hunter has developed these lift racks as a solution to the challenges posed by brine solutions that are found to be harmful to automobiles and automotive shop equipment today.

The new harsh-duty rack sports stainless steel slip plate top surfaces and turnplates. The rack has a double layer or coating protection, with a zinc-rich primer base coat and powder top coat covering the lift runways, ramps and bases.

Additionally, Hunter has added epoxy caulked joints to the harsh-duty rack that helps in preventing salt seepage between adjoining metal pieces.

“Today’s brine solutions used on many roads are challenging automakers & equipment manufacturers alike. These solutions are so aggressive, that we decided to offer our customers additional options to keep their Hunter equipment in great condition for a long time to come,” says Pete Liebetreu, Vice President of Marketing, Hunter Engineering.

According to the company, its scissor lift family promises maximum capacity in a low-profile compact package. The lifts not only contain extra-wide runways but are also equipped with a hydraulic system to cut down on descent time by 50 percent.
