Bestbuy Distributors has announced the appointment of Bill Hay as its new President.
Based out of Bestbuy’s head office at 3355 American Drive in Mississauga, Ontario, Hay will take charge in his new role from May 15. He will be responsible for Bestbuy’s overall operations and will report directly to the Board. Additionally, Hay will serve as the primary contact between the Board and Bestbuy’s management team.
“Bill’s strong leadership skills and record of accomplishments in implementing creative promotions, sales and marketing strategies will be a great addition to the Bestbuy management team,” says Chairman Douglas Squires.
To ensure a smooth transition into his new leadership position in the company’s senior management team, Hay will work closely with the Board Chairman. He will be instrumental to the establishment of and movement towards Bestbuy’s future endeavours. The company’s organization and reporting structure will not be affected by this new appointment.
Hay brings with him extensive automotive industry experience to his new role. He has served Dayco Canada Corporation for over 30 years, having held a variety of key leadership positions including Regional Sales Manager, Manager – National Accounts, National Sales Manager and Vice President, Sales and Marketing with overall responsibility for Canada. After his stint at Dayco, Hay served in more senior roles at Uni-Select. Until recently, he was the Regional Vice President – Central and Atlantic.
