Sign of the times: software solution provider Mitchell1 launched a new platform to help guide technicians servicing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
With the goal of helping mechanical repair shops increase productivity, Mitchell1 will be adding a specific advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) module to its ProDemand platform. “We recognize that these technologies are complex, which is why we wish to simplify technician’s lives by explaining, step-by-step, how to diagnose, repair and calibrate every component of these sophisticated systems, which are extremely important for passenger safety,” explains Mitchell1 representative, Ben Johnson, during an AAPEX press conference. “Our platform offers a comprehensive approach in which technicians can access repair procedures as well as technical service bulletins and estimating data such as time and required replacement parts.”
According to the Mitchell1 specialist, the company’s strategy is to limit the number of vehicles returning to the selling dealership for ADAS system repairs, which should be performed in-house. Mitchell1 has worked diligently to standardize a technology which is inherently complex, including the many semantic variances based on vehicle manufacturers.
