A great day on the links.
Tuesday, July 17 saw 156 golfers tee off at Lionshead Golf Course in Mississauga, Ontario on a day that was cooler on the course than previous days, thank goodness. Everyone had a great time on the links then came in to enjoy a sumptuous buffet dinner with 180 diners on hand. Uni-Select had taken the time to spice up some of the holes with a carnival theme and even had an ice cream truck handing out treats.
This is a great event and for a great charity—CSRO—Canadian Spinal Research Organization and for some years now, Barry Munro, Chief Development Officer—and himself a person with a serious spinal problem—has been on hand to speak to all attendees about the research being done by this organization. His theme is ‘We Need to Get It Done!’ The organization has come a long way and found some cures but they aren’t there yet, and so need help to continue with this valuable research.
As Munro said, “Uni-Select has made a big difference along with all the attending companies.” The organization was presented with another cheque from Uni-Select in the amount of $15,000.00 bringing their total donations over the years to $280,000.00. CSRO is the big winner!
Everyone attending the event was a winner… receiving a NIKE Gift Pack of a golf shirt, hat and a backpack or gym bag all by NIKE. After dinner, many prizes were awarded and the drawings for the donated gifts was held. On the golf front, the team with the lowest score was 11A consisting of Jeff Lee, Khal Abu Dagga, Justin Lesansky and Jamie Pletrasko.
I believe a good day was had by all and especially CSRO.
