On April 12, Manitoba held its 2018 Provincial Skills Competition.

In the Automobile Technology Secondary competition, the medalists were Brice Verwey (Gold) of Portage Collegiate Institute, Isaac Brichon (Silver) of Arts and Technology Centre

And Thomas Wood (Bronze) of Kildonan East Collegiate.

In the Automobile Technology Post-Secondary competition, the medalists were Matthew James (Gold), Alistair Friesen (Silver) and Sukhbir Kensray (Bronze) all of Red River College.
