In March, the 2018 provincial Skills Canada competitions got underway, as youth from across the country competed in various skilled trades and technology categories. 

Skills Canada Prince Edward Island held its Automotive Technology competitions on March 15-16 at the Holland College Waterfront Campus in Summerside, PEI.

In the Post-Secondary competition, the medalists were Alex Lanigan, Janson Gallant and Blake Day, all from Holland College. In the Secondary competition, the medalists were Cameron Gallant from Three Oaks High School, Stephen McGeoghan from Montague High School and Colin Jenkins from Charlottetown Rural High School.

Medalists from the provincial competitions will head to the Skills Canada National Competition in Edmonton, Alberta in June.
