On May 16, members of the Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada, will have the opportunity to honour industry leader John Maslack—recipient of this year’s prestigious AIA Distinguished Service Award.

The Distinguished Service Award will be presented to John Maslack immediately following AIA’s 75th Annual General Meeting at the Volunteer Recognition Luncheon—taking place at the Hilton Meadowvale in Mississauga, Ont.

John Maslack is the founder and president of Maslack Supply, a company that was built on the foundation of ensuring that the customer is the most important person in your business. Through John’s leadership and innovative business thinking over the years, Maslack Supply has—since 1959—provided a gateway to Northern Ontario for parts manufacturers to distribute automotive, collision, heavy duty and industrial replacement components to remote end users.

Since opening his first location, Maslack has now grown the business to twelve locations and a staff of over 200 people. In addition to these facilities, Maslack recently opened a new state of the art training centre in Sudbury, Ontario to accommodate its supply customers.

Besides achievements in business, John Maslack is also recognized as an avid community supporter. He pioneered the Sudbury Memorial Hospital Foundation and served on the Sudbury Memorial Hospital Board of Governors. The recipient of numerous honours and awards, he has been recognized with Sudbury’s Sports Celebrity Hall of Fame award in recognition of his support of local youth teams; the Paul Harris Fellow Recognition for being an outstanding contributor to improving the community and quality of life, the 2012 Bell Business Excellence Award, and the Jobber of the Year Award in 1994-95.

As a member of the North American buying group the Alliance and an AIA member for two decades, Maslack and his team have also been strong supporters of the association through sponsorship programs and events across Canada.
