Snap-on has launched MODIS Edge, a combination full-function scan tool and scope/graphing meter that delivers new features, plus the powerhouse speed and performance that professional technicians expect from a complete diagnostic tool.

The MODIS Edge, with a five-second boot-up and the new Instant ID feature that automatically reads the VIN upon connection to the vehicle, is designed to enable technicians to get right to work.
The 9-foot lighted OBD cable is designed to make connection to the vehicle fast and easy. The dedicated SMX operating system and quick links to common procedures, such as oil specs and service interval resets, are designed to achieve swift results. In addition, the finger-driven, eight-inch colour touchscreen and four-way thumb pad allows for quick navigation.
Additional features include a Vehicle System Report for 2008 and newer vehicles, which displays a complete view of diagnostic results for all available systems that can be printed for more convincing customer estimates.

The MODIS Edge can also display up to eight live data parameters onscreen at one time in digital format and provides extended Wi-Fi range to speed triage functions and increase productivity in the bay.
With expert diagnostics, the MODIS Edge is designed to eliminate guesswork. Technicians have access to 48 vehicle makes and over 100 vehicle systems with coverage including OEM-specific codes, live data graphing, functional tests, and relearns and adaptations. Comprehensive coverage is available for Asian, Domestic and European vehicles, as far back as model year 1980.
