Le Qu\u00e9bec a toutes les ressources en main pour cr\u00e9er une fili\u00e8re de batteries pour le parc automobile nord-am\u00e9ricain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

C\u2019est ce qui ressort d\u2019une discussion d\u2019experts qui s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e dans le cadre de la rencontre virtuelle Impulsion MTL le 26 janvier dernier. Le th\u00e8me de cet \u00e9v\u00e8nement \u00e9tait la recharge et les batteries.<\/p>\n

Des conf\u00e9renciers venus de plusieurs grandes villes nord-am\u00e9ricaines et d\u2019Europe ont abord\u00e9 les enjeux de l\u2019\u00e9lectrification des transports dans leurs juridictions.<\/p>\n

Un panel compos\u00e9 de repr\u00e9sentants qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois de l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me \u00e9lectrique a aussi expliqu\u00e9 comment cette province \u00e9tait particuli\u00e8rement bien positionn\u00e9e pour devenir un fournisseur de batteries vertes pour tout le continent. Hubert Bolduc et \u00c9ric Rondeau, respectivement pr\u00e9sident et conseiller strat\u00e9gique senior, initiatives Batteries et \u00c9lectrification pour Investissement Qu\u00e9bec International, ont expliqu\u00e9 que le Qu\u00e9bec poss\u00e8de dans ses mines les min\u00e9raux strat\u00e9giques n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la fabrication de batteries destin\u00e9es au transport.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous profitons d\u2019un engagement politique clair en mati\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9lectrification des transports, soulignait M.\u00a0Bolduc. Nous avons acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une \u00e9nergie propre pour la fabrication et poss\u00e9dons ici une solide base d\u2019expertise et de recherche appuyant le d\u00e9veloppement de cette fili\u00e8re. Nous avons aussi les technologies n\u00e9cessaires au recyclage des batteries en fin de vie. Notre objectif est d\u2019attirer ici des joueurs internationaux qui profiteront de tous nos avantages pour produire ici, les batteries dont la demande va croissante.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Un manque de batteries<\/strong><\/h5>\n

En fait, selon \u00c9ric Rondeau, il y a pr\u00e9sentement un danger de rupture d\u2019approvisionnement. \u00ab\u00a0Une compagnie comme Tesla s\u2019est d\u00e9j\u00e0 positionn\u00e9e pour avoir acc\u00e8s aux batteries n\u00e9cessaires pour ses v\u00e9hicules. Mais les autres constructeurs nord-am\u00e9ricains, qui annoncent constamment de nouveaux v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques, sont en rattrapage. Nous avons le grand avantage, au Qu\u00e9bec, d\u2019\u00eatre proche des usines de construction automobiles, que ce soit en Ontario ou aux \u00c9tats-Unis.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Investissement Qu\u00e9bec international serait ainsi en pourparlers avec plusieurs fabricants de batteries pour les faire investir ici, et leur permettre de se rapprocher d\u2019un march\u00e9 en pleine croissance.<\/p>\n

Beno\u00eet Couture, de Recyclage Lithion, a ensuite pris la parole pour parler de l\u2019usine pilote qui permet de r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer 95\u00a0% des composantes des batteries au lithium-ion. \u00ab En plus de pouvoir valoriser les batteries en fin de vie, nous pourrions travailler de concert avec un fabricant puisque dans le processus de fabrication de batteries, il peut y avoir jusqu\u2019\u00e0 10\u00a0% de rejets.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Bref, une fili\u00e8re de batteries made in Qu\u00e9bec<\/em>, pourrait en effet porter l’\u00e9tiquette verte.\u00a0L\u2019acc\u00e8s du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 propre, abondante et accessible, le positionnerait aussi de fa\u00e7on strat\u00e9gique pour occuper un cr\u00e9neau important dans une autre industrie d\u2019avenir, celle des cellules \u00e0 hydrog\u00e8ne.<\/p>\n
