Si la couleur de la pi\u00e8ce jure avec le reste du v\u00e9hicule, le client sera le premier \u00e0 vous le signifier\u2026 ce qui n\u2019est jamais une bonne nouvelle.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u2009Le premier conseil que je donnerais \u00e0 nos carrossiers est de faire le tour du v\u00e9hicule avec le client, question d\u2019identifier les dommages ant\u00e9rieurs, mais aussi de lui montrer que parfois, \u00e0 l\u2019origine, la couleur du parechoc diff\u00e8re de celle du hayon, par exemple\u2009\u00bb, explique Denis Chevrier, formateur technique pour Sherwin-Williams.<\/p>\n<p>Par la suite, le spectrophotom\u00e8tre, commun\u00e9ment appel\u00e9 <em>scanneur<\/em>, sera un outil qui pourra seconder le coloriste pour s\u2019assurer que la bonne couleur parmi un choix beaucoup plus riche que celui qu\u2019on trouve dans la bo\u00eete d\u2019\u00e9chantillons de peinture.<\/p>\n<p>Il existe sur le march\u00e9 une incroyable vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de couleurs et le m\u00eame v\u00e9hicule, sorti le m\u00eame jour de la m\u00eame usine, peut avoir des nuances de couleur diff\u00e9rentes. En fait, selon nos experts, un m\u00eame code de couleur peut pr\u00e9senter jusqu\u2019\u00e0 une vingtaine de variables.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Pr\u00e9parer la surface<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>\u00ab\u2009Pour ne pas fausser les donn\u00e9es, il faut une excellente pr\u00e9paration de la surface o\u00f9 les lectures seront prises, insiste John Beauregard, sp\u00e9cialiste en solutions de refinition chez PPG. Il faut aller chercher un maximum de lustre et s\u2019assurer aussi que l\u2019appareil est bien calibr\u00e9. L\u2019utilisation de cet outil demande de la formation.\u2009\u00bb Par exemple, si on prend une lecture d\u2019un noir solide dont la surface est couverte de poussi\u00e8re, la lecture pourrait donner un r\u00e9sultat pour un noir m\u00e9tallis\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Le plus pr\u00e8s possible<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>L\u2019appareil prendra deux ou trois lectures de la m\u00eame cible et \u00e9tablira une moyenne de ces lectures. Une lumi\u00e8re est projet\u00e9e sur le panneau et les ondes de couleur seront analys\u00e9es pour donner le r\u00e9sultat le plus pr\u00e8s possible de la couleur d\u2019origine. Une fois la lecture prise, l\u2019outil est raccord\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019ordinateur o\u00f9 le logiciel pr\u00e9sentera ses choix.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u2009Ce n\u2019est pas une solution compl\u00e8te, mais c\u2019est un excellent point de d\u00e9part, pr\u00e9cise Christian Roy, g\u00e9rant des services techniques chez NAPA\\Cmax. L\u2019appareil donnera un choix de couleurs que le technicien doit ensuite valider par la pr\u00e9paration d\u2019un \u00e9chantillon. Il peut lire cet \u00e9chantillon avec le spectrophotom\u00e8tre pour voir s\u2019il est dans la bonne zone et ensuite v\u00e9rifier directement sur la voiture.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u2009Selon le logiciel li\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019outil de mesure, la recherche se fera parmi les couleurs d\u00e9j\u00e0 enregistr\u00e9es sur le site de la compagnie de peinture. Par contre, l\u2019option de faire une recherche avanc\u00e9e parmi l\u2019enti\u00e8re banque de donn\u00e9es peut \u00e0 l\u2019occasion s\u2019av\u00e9rer tr\u00e8s utile\u2009\u00bb, reprend Denis Chevier.<\/p>\n<p>Selon le type et la compagnie de peinture, la m\u00e9thode peut varier. Certains feront une recherche par NIV (num\u00e9ro d\u2019identification du v\u00e9hicule), d\u2019autres le feront par marque et certains offriront le choix d\u2019y aller avec la grosseur du grain des paillettes m\u00e9talliques pour les couleurs \u00e0 effets.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Beaucoup plus pr\u00e9cis<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>La nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de spectrophotom\u00e8tres d\u00e9montre une plus grande pr\u00e9cision que les outils avec lesquels les carrossiers ont \u00e9t\u00e9 en contact il y a plusieurs ann\u00e9es. Selon M.\u00a0Roy, certains ressentent une certaine r\u00e9ticence \u00e0 les utiliser. \u00ab\u2009Mais dans un contexte de raret\u00e9 de main-d\u2019\u0153uvre qualifi\u00e9e, cet outil a une grande utilit\u00e9. Il ne remplacera jamais un expert, mais pour les repr\u00e9sentants de la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration montante, c\u2019est un appareil attirant, convivial et pr\u00e9cis. Je sais que c\u2019est un investissement important, mais je suis convaincu que tous les ateliers devraient s\u2019y int\u00e9resser.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n<h5><strong>La voie de l\u2019avenir<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Les carrossiers devraient en effet s\u2019y int\u00e9resser d\u2019autant plus qu\u2019au approche du moment o\u00f9 les bo\u00eetes d\u2019\u00e9chantillons de couleurs seront remplac\u00e9es par le spectrophotom\u00e8tre par les fabricants de peinture.
