S\u2019il a choisi de nous parler sp\u00e9cifiquement de la Chrysler Imperial Convertible Victoria de 1931, c\u2019est \u00e0 cause de sa raret\u00e9, de sa remarquable \u00e9l\u00e9gance, mais aussi du d\u00e9fi que sa restauration a repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 pour lui et son fils.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Une passion h\u00e2tive<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>M\u00e9canicien dans le garage de son p\u00e8re, le jeune Richard n\u2019a que 14 ans lorsqu\u2019il modifie un Willys Coup\u00e9 1940 en Hot-Rod. Il travaillera pour son p\u00e8re jusqu\u2019en 1981, ann\u00e9e o\u00f9 la restauration de voitures antiques devient son m\u00e9tier. Il r\u00e9alise rapidement qu\u2019il est plus int\u00e9ressant pour son entreprise, Au Temps Tic Auto, de travailler sur des voitures classiques rares, \u00ab\u00a0plus le fun \u00e0 restaurer.\u00a0\u00bb Les Porsche, Ferrari, Jaguar des ann\u00e9es 1950 \u00e0 1970 se succ\u00e8dent dans son atelier ainsi qu\u2019une brochette hallucinante de mod\u00e8les am\u00e9ricains luxueux d\u2019avant-guerre. Sa r\u00e9putation se construit au rythme des livraisons et des contacts cr\u00e9\u00e9s partout en Am\u00e9rique et en Europe. PHOTO Richard Grenon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>C\u2019est en 2009 que le duo ach\u00e8te la Chrysler Convertible de son propri\u00e9taire new-yorkais. Il ne resterait que trois voitures de ce type dans le monde. Ce mod\u00e8le luxueux est d\u2019autant plus int\u00e9ressant qu\u2019on y per\u00e7oit l\u2019influence europ\u00e9enne, notamment en mati\u00e8re de carrosserie. PHOTO Richard Grenon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h5><strong>50 ans dans une grange<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Elle a dormi dans une grange pendant 50 ans et si toutes les structures en bois devaient \u00eatre reproduites \u00e0 la main, la carrosserie en aluminium, une de rare livr\u00e9e par Waterhouse, \u00e9tait en relativement bonne condition. PHOTO Richard Grenon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Il aura fallu un total de 6000 heures au restaurateur et \u00e0 son fils pour mettre cette voiture rarissime en condition impeccable. Toute la carrosserie a \u00e9t\u00e9 sabl\u00e9e \u00e0 nue et recouverte d\u2019un scellant avant d\u2019\u00eatre recouverte de plusieurs couches successives d\u2019appr\u00eats. \u00ab\u00a0Avec ce traitement, la carrosserie est bonne pour 200 ans\u00a0\u00bb, pr\u00e9cise l\u2019expert. Les couches de peinture finales sont noires avec une d\u00e9coupe orange br\u00fbl\u00e9. La m\u00eame couleur se retrouve dans le capitonnage int\u00e9rieur, du cousu main par M.
