{"id":81222,"date":"2020-08-27T15:43:06","date_gmt":"2020-08-27T19:43:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosphere.ca\/?p=81222"},"modified":"2021-03-08T15:44:36","modified_gmt":"2021-03-08T20:44:36","slug":"carstar-mso-collecte-plus-de-20%e2%80%89000-dollars-pour-une-clinique-locale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/autosphere.ca\/fr\/carrosserie\/2020\/08\/27\/carstar-mso-collecte-plus-de-20%e2%80%89000-dollars-pour-une-clinique-locale\/","title":{"rendered":"CARSTAR MSO collecte plus de 20\u2009000 dollars pour une clinique locale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>La co-propri\u00e9taire de CARSTAR Edmonton Nord, CARSTAR St. Albert et CARSTAR Edmonton Est, Esther Cantafio, a organis\u00e9 un tournoi de golf intitul\u00e9 \u00ab\u2009Swing for the Cure\u2009\u00bb qui a permis de r\u00e9colter plus de 20\u2009000\u00a0dollars pour la clinique de scl\u00e9rose en plaques du nord de l\u2019Alberta de la Fondation de l\u2019h\u00f4pital universitaire.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Avec sa fille, Melissa McCutcheon, qui a re\u00e7u un diagnostic de scl\u00e9rose en plaques (SEP) l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 dernier, Cantafio s\u2019est imm\u00e9diatement engag\u00e9e \u00e0 collecter des fonds et \u00e0 sensibiliser le public \u00e0 cette cause.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u2009Tout a commenc\u00e9 en juin dernier lorsque j\u2019ai eu les jambes engourdies. Rapidement, je ne pouvais plus marcher ni prendre mes enfants et j\u2019ai m\u00eame perdu la mobilit\u00e9 d\u2019une de mes mains\u2009\u00bb, explique Melissa McCutcheon. \u00ab\u2009Une fois que j\u2019ai re\u00e7u le diagnostic de la scl\u00e9rose en plaques, cela a chang\u00e9 la vie de toute ma famille. Le plus difficile, c\u2019est qu\u2019il n\u2019y a pas de rem\u00e8de et qu\u2019il n\u2019existe que des traitements pour les sympt\u00f4mes, pas pour la cause\u2009\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La scl\u00e9rose en plaques est une maladie progressive du syst\u00e8me nerveux central, ou du cerveau et de la moelle \u00e9pini\u00e8re. Les patients atteints de pr\u00e9sentent des sympt\u00f4mes tels qu\u2019une fatigue extr\u00eame, un manque de coordination, des faiblesses, des picotements, une alt\u00e9ration des sensations, des probl\u00e8mes de vision, des probl\u00e8mes de vessie, des troubles cognitifs et des changements d\u2019humeur. Il n\u2019existe actuellement aucun rem\u00e8de, mais chaque jour, les chercheurs en apprennent davantage sur les causes de la SEP et se concentrent sur les moyens de la pr\u00e9venir.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u2009Ma m\u00e8re organise ce tournoi de golf depuis des mois et lorsque la pand\u00e9mie a \u00e9clat\u00e9 ce printemps, elle est devenue plus d\u00e9termin\u00e9e que jamais \u00e0 trouver un moyen de rendre cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement s\u00e9curitaire pour tous les golfeurs\u2009\u00bb, poursuit M.\u00a0McCutcheon. \u00ab\u2009Je pense que c\u2019\u00e9tait la seule chose qu\u2019elle pouvait faire pour m\u2019aider et c\u2019est vraiment ce qui a motiv\u00e9 sa passion pour cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement et pourquoi il a eu tant de succ\u00e8s.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Organis\u00e9 sur le terrain de golf de la carri\u00e8re, le tournoi a vu la participation de 72 golfeurs, avec un petit d\u00e9jeuner chaud, une vente aux ench\u00e8res silencieuse et des subventions g\u00e9n\u00e9reuses de la part de BASF et Enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>Gr\u00e2ce aux protocoles locaux en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, les golfeurs ont pu continuer \u00e0 jouer pour une bonne cause. Six anciens de l\u2019\u00e9quipe de football d\u2019Edmonton \u00e9taient pr\u00e9sents, dont Colin Kelly, Herb Dobbins, Ed Jones, Glenn Harper, Emilio Fraietta et Justin Sorenson, ainsi que le champion de curling Marc Kennedy, m\u00e9daill\u00e9 d\u2019or.<\/p>\n<p>McCutcheon a poursuivi\u00a0: \u00ab\u2009Nous n\u2019avons cess\u00e9 d\u2019entendre \u00e0 quel point tout le monde \u00e9tait reconnaissant de pouvoir encore participer \u00e0 un tournoi de golf cet \u00e9t\u00e9, car la plupart des \u00e9v\u00e9nements ont \u00e9t\u00e9 annul\u00e9s. Tout cela est arriv\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la d\u00e9termination de ma m\u00e8re.
