{"id":78861,"date":"2020-08-07T12:20:38","date_gmt":"2020-08-07T16:20:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosphere.ca\/?p=78861"},"modified":"2020-08-07T12:20:38","modified_gmt":"2020-08-07T16:20:38","slug":"la-voiture-canadienne-par-excellence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/autosphere.ca\/fr\/carrosserie\/2020\/08\/07\/la-voiture-canadienne-par-excellence\/","title":{"rendered":"La voiture canadienne par excellence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Cette Pontiac Parisienne de 1964 t\u00e9moigne de la riche histoire automobile du Canada.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Il est peut-\u00eatre difficile de le comprendre aujourd\u2019hui, mais dans les ann\u00e9es\u00a01960, le co\u00fbt \u00e9lev\u00e9 de l\u2019importation de v\u00e9hicules au Canada, m\u00eame en provenance des \u00c9tats-Unis, a fait en sorte que plusieurs mod\u00e8les \u00e9taient construits et vendus sp\u00e9cifiquement au Canada, avec des caract\u00e9ristiques et des options uniques sp\u00e9cialement con\u00e7ues pour les consommateurs canadiens.<\/p>\n<p>La Pontiac en est un bon exemple. Fond\u00e9e en 1926 comme l\u2019une des marques appartenant \u00e0 General Motors, Pontiac a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue pour combler les lacunes per\u00e7ues dans la hi\u00e9rarchie des prix de GM en m\u00eame temps que plusieurs autres comme La Salle (Cadillac) et Viking (Oldsmobile). Avec le temps, Pontiac a eu une long\u00e9vit\u00e9 beaucoup plus longue que sa marque m\u00e8re Oakland et a finalement surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 toutes les autres marques qui \u00e9taient dans le m\u00eame cr\u00e9neau.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Vendeurs populaires<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es\u00a01960, les voitures Pontiac \u00e9taient parmi les v\u00e9hicules les plus vendus au Canada, devanc\u00e9s seulement par Chevrolet et Ford. La voiture \u00e9tait dans un \u00e9tat d\u2019origine exceptionnel, mais il y a 15 ans, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 repeinte et un nouveau toit en vinyle a \u00e9t\u00e9 install\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>En 2020, le fils Todd a \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9 \u00e0 prendre en charge la voiture. \u00ab\u2009Comme elle n\u2019avait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 conduite r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es, elle avait besoin d\u2019une remise \u00e0 neuf m\u00e9canique\u2009\u00bb, explique Todd.<\/p>\n<p>Depuis, la voiture a \u00e9t\u00e9 remise en service et pour la pr\u00e9parer, le moteur \u00e0 six cylindres en ligne a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9taill\u00e9e et a re\u00e7u des joints neufs \u2014 le radiateur d\u2019origine a \u00e9t\u00e9 reconstruit et refait \u2014 tandis que la transmission Powerglide \u00e0 deux vitesses a \u00e9t\u00e9 entretenue et les freins r\u00e9vis\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Dans un effort pour conserver l\u2019\u00e9tat original de la voiture le plus que possible, cette Parisienne de 1964 a conserv\u00e9 ses freins \u00e0 tambour aux quatre roues et son ma\u00eetre-cylindre unique d\u2019usine.<\/p>\n<p>Selon Todd, c\u2019est une exp\u00e9rience tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rente comparativement \u00e0 la conduite d\u2019une voiture moderne et il faut un peu plus de temps pour s\u2019habituer \u00e0 la direction l\u00e9g\u00e8re, \u00e0 la suspension souple et aux freins \u00e0 tambour.<\/p>\n<p>Mais, comme ce fut le cas lors de sa premi\u00e8re sortie cette ann\u00e9e avec sa m\u00e8re Betty, conduire sur la route est une exp\u00e9rience unique et inoubliable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cette Pontiac Parisienne de 1964 t\u00e9moigne de la riche histoire automobile du Canada.
