Depuis 23 ans, l\u2019enseignant Luigi Ricci a fait na\u00eetre des centaines de vocations au Centre de Formation professionnelle (CFP) Laurier Macdonald. Quels sont ses meilleurs trucs pour encourager la rel\u00e8ve en m\u00e9canique automobile ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Luigi Ricci d\u00e9montait et remontait d\u00e9j\u00e0 sa bicyclette \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de six ans. Avant de faire la m\u00eame chose sur la voiture de son p\u00e8re d\u00e8s qu\u2019il en a eu l\u2019autorisation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Disons que ce n\u2019est pas par accident que j\u2019ai choisi de me diriger vers la m\u00e9canique ! \u00bb lance celui qui a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re partie de sa carri\u00e8re au sein du groupe Volkswagen-Audi (15 ans), puis de General Motors (6 ans).<\/span><\/p>\n

Le m\u00e9canicien aurait poursuivi son m\u00e9tier jusqu\u2019\u00e0 sa retraite, mais un accident de travail l\u2019a contraint \u00e0 tout arr\u00eater. Cinq ans de CSST plus tard, l\u2019une des options \u00e9tait cell de se reconvertir comme enseignant en m\u00e9canique automobile.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab J\u2019ai \u00e9tudi\u00e9 pour le bac pendant sept ans, tout en travaillant, tout d\u2019abord comme assistant, puis comme <\/span>professeur au CFP Laurier Macdonald<\/span><\/a>. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Enseigner, mais aussi accompagner les jeunes<\/span><\/p>\n

Lorsqu\u2019on lui demande ce qu\u2019il pr\u00e9f\u00e8re dans son m\u00e9tier, Luigi Ricci r\u00e9pond imm\u00e9diatement : \u00ab Ma connexion avec les \u00e9tudiants. Il n\u2019y a rien de plus valorisant. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Pourtant, la client\u00e8le de son \u00e9tablissement n\u2019est pas la plus \u00e9vidente \u00e0 encadrer. L\u2019enseignant estime que 40 \u00e0 50 % de ces jeunes ont des probl\u00e8mes de comportement. Le DEP en m\u00e9canique est souvent la voie de la derni\u00e8re chance.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Je ne juge personne. Je pars toujours du principe que si on veut que j\u2019aide, on n\u2019a qu\u2019\u00e0 me le demander, c\u2019est tout \u00bb, indique l\u2019enseignant, qui r\u00e9ussit en moyenne \u00e0 garder 85 % de ses cohortes jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la fin de leur formation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Comment parvient-il \u00e0 un tel r\u00e9sultat ? \u00ab Je pense qu\u2019on doit enseigner la mati\u00e8re, mais aussi la rendre divertissante pour garder l\u2019attention des \u00e9l\u00e8ves, explique-t-il. On guide, on \u00e9coute et on accompagne. Enfin, et je dirais que c\u2019est l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ment le plus important, il faut respecter ses \u00e9tudiants. Si ce n\u2019est pas le cas, ils le voient et ne feront pas d\u2019efforts. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Dans trois ou quatre ans, Luigi Ricci projette de prendre sa retraite. Non par fatigue ou par d\u00e9pit, mais plut\u00f4t pour continuer \u00e0 travailler sur des voitures de chez lui, notamment des vieux mod\u00e8les des ann\u00e9es 60, 70 et 80.<\/span><\/p>\n

C\u2019est cette m\u00eame flamme que l\u2019enseignant essaie d\u2019allumer chez ses \u00e9tudiants. \u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9cole, il leur montre tout ce qui peut se faire sur une voiture \u00e0 essence et, si le niveau de la classe le permet, sur des mod\u00e8les di\u00e9sel. Il aborde aussi de plus en plus avec eux la m\u00e9canique des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques et des hybrides.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Si j\u2019ai un dernier message \u00e0 adresser aux jeunes, c\u2019est de suivre leurs r\u00eaves. S\u2019ils aiment la m\u00e9canique, la m\u00e9canique leur rendra bien, et ils pourront s\u2019\u00e9panouir dans ce m\u00e9tier \u00bb, conclut-il.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
