Le parall\u00e9lisme en est un bon exemple.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u00ab Il y a dix ans, les op\u00e9rations de parall\u00e9lisme \u00e9taient encore relativement simples, explique Anil Kumar, propri\u00e9taire de Midas Barrie Mapleview, \u00e0 Barrie (Ontario). Il ne s\u2019agit plus seulement de r\u00e9gler les angles, il faut aussi savoir effectuer des calibrations et s\u2019assurer que les capteurs r\u00e9apprennent la position exacte des angles. \u00bb Selon lui, la proc\u00e9dure est bien plus exigeante, et l\u2019atelier ainsi que le technicien qui l\u2019ex\u00e9cute doivent garantir que les calibrations sont pr\u00e9cises et que tous les capteurs fonctionnent conform\u00e9ment aux intentions du constructeur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>M. Kumar ajoute que dans certains cas, un parall\u00e9lisme complet sur quatre roues peut prendre jusqu\u2019\u00e0 une demi-journ\u00e9e. Il est donc essentiel que les clients comprennent ce qui est n\u00e9cessaire pour que l\u2019op\u00e9ration soit r\u00e9alis\u00e9e correctement.<\/p>\n<p><span>Cela reste un d\u00e9fi, car beaucoup de gens pensent encore qu\u2019un parall\u00e9lisme est une op\u00e9ration simple, peu co\u00fbteuse et rapide, alors qu\u2019en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 c\u2019est loin d\u2019\u00eatre le cas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Importance du service<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>John Baker, sp\u00e9cialiste de formation en \u00e9quipement nord-am\u00e9ricain chez Snap-On, souligne que m\u00eame si les consommateurs d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui sont attentifs aux prix, les ateliers doivent insister sur l\u2019importance d\u2019un parall\u00e9lisme bien ex\u00e9cut\u00e9. \u00ab Un mauvais r\u00e9glage peut entra\u00eener de nombreux probl\u00e8mes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, comme des tirages d\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9 ou des d\u00e9rives, sans parler de l\u2019usure pr\u00e9matur\u00e9e des pneus \u00bb, explique-t-il. Il ajoute que les ateliers qui ne r\u00e9alisent pas correctement ces ajustements perdent \u00e9galement une source importante de revenus. \u00ab Non seulement ils facturent l\u2019op\u00e9ration de parall\u00e9lisme, pr\u00e9cise M. Baker, mais ils g\u00e9n\u00e8rent aussi des revenus suppl\u00e9mentaires en inspectant le dessous du v\u00e9hicule : amortisseurs, jambes de suspension, ressorts, toutes les pi\u00e8ces de suspension, mais aussi freins, fuites d\u2019huile moteur ou de transmission, etc. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Selon lui, les ateliers devraient aujourd\u2019hui r\u00e9aliser une v\u00e9rification pr\u00e9alable de l\u2019alignement sur chaque v\u00e9hicule qui entre. Il explique que ces pr\u00e9contr\u00f4les, effectu\u00e9s avec des appareils comme les John Bean V2380, V3300 ou V4400, prennent moins d\u2019une minute et permettent d\u2019instaurer une vraie transparence entre le client et l\u2019atelier. Cela offre l\u2019occasion d\u2019expliquer les enjeux de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, les cons\u00e9quences de l\u2019usure irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re des pneus, et en m\u00eame temps d\u2019accro\u00eetre la rentabilit\u00e9 du service parall\u00e9lisme et la fid\u00e9lisation de la client\u00e8le.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>T\u00e2ches suppl\u00e9mentaires<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Dans les ateliers, M. Kumar indique que les op\u00e9rations de parall\u00e9lisme ne se limitent plus aujourd\u2019hui aux r\u00e9glages de base, comme le pincement, le carrossage, la chasse ou la hauteur de caisse. Avec la g\u00e9n\u00e9ralisation des syst\u00e8mes avanc\u00e9s d\u2019aide \u00e0 la conduite (ADAS) sur les v\u00e9hicules r\u00e9cents, une calibration peut parfois impliquer de d\u00e9poser le pare-chocs et la calandre afin d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 un radar ou \u00e0 une cam\u00e9ra avant. M\u00eame un simple remplacement de phare peut perturber la calibration, ce qui impose au v\u00e9hicule de r\u00e9apprendre sa position et ses distances. Sinon, une fois sorti de l\u2019atelier, le conducteur risque de rencontrer divers probl\u00e8mes qui peuvent compromettre sa s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et celle des autres usagers, notamment un mauvais fonctionnement de l\u2019assistance au freinage d\u2019urgence ou du r\u00e9gulateur de vitesse adaptatif.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Communication avec le client<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>M. <\/span>Kumar ajoute qu\u2019un pr\u00e9contr\u00f4le qui r\u00e9v\u00e8le un probl\u00e8me d\u2019alignement permet aussi d\u2019inspecter le ch\u00e2ssis et la suspension afin de localiser certaines d\u00e9faillances. Si un \u00e9l\u00e9ment comme une rotule doit \u00eatre remplac\u00e9, il est important que le client sache exactement ce que cela implique et quel sera le co\u00fbt. \u00ab Beaucoup de v\u00e9hicules r\u00e9cents utilisent des bras de suspension en aluminium ou plus l\u00e9gers, explique-t-il. Dans bien des cas, si la rotule est d\u00e9fectueuse, il faut remplacer tout le bras de suspension. Les clients doivent comprendre que ce n\u2019est plus comme il y a vingt ou trente ans, o\u00f9 il suffisait souvent de d\u00e9poser et remplacer la rotule. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Investir dans l&rsquo;\u00e9quipement<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Avec l\u2019\u00e9volution rapide des technologies automobiles, disposer du bon \u00e9quipement est essentiel pour entretenir et r\u00e9parer correctement les v\u00e9hicules actuels. Mais plusieurs facteurs sont \u00e0 consid\u00e9rer. Anil Kumar souligne qu\u2019un atelier doit d\u2019abord bien conna\u00eetre sa client\u00e8le, les types de v\u00e9hicules qu\u2019elle conduit et ceux qui passent le plus souvent \u00e0 l\u2019atelier. \u00ab Si vos clients roulent beaucoup en v\u00e9hicules r\u00e9cents, il est logique de s\u2019\u00e9quiper de machines adapt\u00e9es, explique-t-il. Mais il faut aussi que votre personnel soit form\u00e9 pour les utiliser, car le meilleur \u00e9quipement ne sert \u00e0 rien si personne ne sait s\u2019en servir correctement. \u00bb L\u2019\u00e9quipement et la proc\u00e9dure doivent aussi \u00eatre parfaitement int\u00e9gr\u00e9s aux op\u00e9rations de l\u2019atelier afin de maximiser les revenus, tout en permettant au client de recevoir des rapports clairs et rapides sur l\u2019\u00e9tat de son v\u00e9hicule, les interventions n\u00e9cessaires et les raisons de celles-ci.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Chez Snap-On, Daniel Baker rappelle que les syst\u00e8mes de parall\u00e9lisme modernes propos\u00e9s par John Bean sont int\u00e9gr\u00e9s aux processus de calibration ou, au minimum, con\u00e7us pour fournir des mesures compatibles avec les ADAS. En mati\u00e8re d\u2019ADAS, il explique que la configuration de l\u2019atelier, le personnel et d\u2019autres param\u00e8tres vont d\u00e9terminer quel type de syst\u00e8me choisir. \u00ab Cela peut aller des unit\u00e9s portatives aux syst\u00e8mes \u00e0 poutre inclinable, en passant par les dispositifs d\u2019imagerie ou les solutions sans fil \u00e0 passage direct.
