Le t\u00e9moin de v\u00e9rification du moteur est allum\u00e9, il se plaint d\u2019un d\u00e9marrage difficile, d\u2019un rat\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019allumage ou d\u2019une acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration anormale. Quelle que soit la situation, une chose est certaine\u202f: le client est contrari\u00e9 et veut que son v\u00e9hicule soit r\u00e9par\u00e9 rapidement. \u00c0 partir de l\u00e0, tout repose sur la fa\u00e7on dont l\u2019atelier va g\u00e9rer le dossier. C\u2019est souvent ce qui fait toute la diff\u00e9rence dans la relation avec le client.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Lemay, propri\u00e9taire de l\u2019entreprise Auto Aide Technical Services, sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans le diagnostic et la formation avanc\u00e9e pour les techniciens, insiste sur l\u2019importance d\u2019une bonne compr\u00e9hension du probl\u00e8me d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part. Et cela passe par une formation ad\u00e9quate\u202f: les conseillers et les techniciens doivent apprendre \u00e0 poser les bonnes questions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Un outil simple, mais efficace<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Un bon point de d\u00e9part consiste \u00e0 remettre au client un questionnaire sur les probl\u00e8mes de conduite. \u00ab\u202fOn lui demande de remplir le formulaire et on l\u2019agrafe au dossier du v\u00e9hicule\u202f\u00bb, explique Mark Lemay. \u00ab\u202fPlus le technicien dispose d\u2019informations, plus il aura de chances de poser un bon diagnostic et de r\u00e9gler le probl\u00e8me efficacement.\u202f\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Autre point \u00e0 ne pas n\u00e9gliger\u202f: la tarification du diagnostic. Rob Ingram, technicien exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 et propri\u00e9taire du centre Eldon Ingram NAPA AUTOPRO \u00e0 Stratford (Ontario), recommande d\u2019appliquer des frais de diagnostic initiaux, distincts du taux horaire habituel. \u00ab\u202fCe montant doit \u00eatre sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 votre taux standard, car dans le cas d\u2019un diagnostic, il n\u2019y a pas de vente de pi\u00e8ces. Cela permet au technicien, si besoin, de l\u2019appeler sans d\u00e9lai pour lui expliquer la situation, faire le point sur les constats et d\u00e9cider des prochaines \u00e9tapes.<\/p>\n<p>Autre solution propos\u00e9e par Rob Ingram\u202f: convenir d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part d\u2019un montant maximal autoris\u00e9 pour le diagnostic. C\u2019est particuli\u00e8rement utile si le client est press\u00e9. M\u00eame si cette approche peut lui sembler risqu\u00e9e au d\u00e9but, elle se r\u00e9v\u00e8le souvent rassurante. \u00ab\u202fSi le client accepte un budget de 300\u202f$ et qu\u2019on trouve la cause du probl\u00e8me pour 140\u202f$, il a le sentiment d\u2019avoir eu un bon service, \u00e0 un prix raisonnable. Et l\u2019atelier en ressort valoris\u00e9, \u00e0 la fois pour son professionnalisme et sa transparence.\u202f\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Encore faut-il que les techniciens soient bien \u00e9quip\u00e9s pour faire leur travail. Il est essentiel de disposer d\u2019outils de diagnostic compatibles avec les v\u00e9hicules pris en charge par l\u2019atelier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Des outils adapt\u00e9s et \u00e0 jour<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mark Lemay rappelle que les appareils g\u00e9n\u00e9riques, bien qu\u2019utiles, ont leurs limites. Il recommande d\u2019investir dans des outils de diagnostic d\u2019origine pour les marques les plus fr\u00e9quemment r\u00e9par\u00e9es. Et du c\u00f4t\u00e9 des indispensables, on retrouve entre autres des multim\u00e8tres, des oscilloscopes, des pinces amp\u00e8rem\u00e9triques, des capteurs de pression et des manom\u00e8tres pour la pression d\u2019essence.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019information technique est tout aussi crucial. Des plateformes comme Mitchell 1, ALLDATA ou Identifix (Direct-Hit) sont tr\u00e8s utiles dans le march\u00e9 secondaire, mais Lemay sugg\u00e8re aussi de se doter d\u2019un acc\u00e8s aux portails des constructeurs. Cela permet aux techniciens d\u2019avoir les proc\u00e9dures pr\u00e9cises pour intervenir correctement, quel que soit le probl\u00e8me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communication et validation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>S\u2019il y a bien une chose \u00e0 retenir, c\u2019est que la communication entre le client, le conseiller et le technicien doit \u00eatre claire, pr\u00e9cise et structur\u00e9e. Et cela implique de poser les bonnes questions. Exemple\u202f: un client mentionne un bruit strident lorsqu\u2019il roule. Le conseiller peut lui demander si ce bruit se produit lorsque le v\u00e9hicule est \u00e0 l\u2019arr\u00eat ou en mouvement. Si c\u2019est \u00e0 l\u2019arr\u00eat, cela permet d\u2019\u00e9liminer plusieurs pistes\u202f: train roulant, direction, freins ou roulements.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00eame logique pour un d\u00e9marrage difficile\u202f: est-ce que \u00e7a se produit seulement par temps froid\u202f? Ou apr\u00e8s avoir roul\u00e9\u202f? Et est-ce que le probl\u00e8me survient uniquement avec vous, ou aussi quand votre<\/p>\n<p>conjointe conduit\u202f? Rob Ingram se souvient d\u2019un cas o\u00f9 le souci venait\u2026 de la cl\u00e9 intelligente. L\u2019une des deux \u00e9tait d\u00e9fectueuse, ce qui causait des rat\u00e9s avec un conducteur, mais pas avec l\u2019autre.<\/p>\n<p>Il souligne aussi l\u2019importance de former le personnel au comptoir pour guider efficacement le client dans ce processus, tout en \u00e9vitant de faire un diagnostic \u00e0 la r\u00e9ception. \u00ab\u202fC\u2019est au technicien de poser un vrai diagnostic\u202f\u00bb, insiste-t-il. \u00ab\u202fCar \u00e0 partir du moment o\u00f9 vous posez un diagnostic au comptoir, le client n\u2019y voit aucune valeur ajout\u00e9e.
