L&rsquo;industrie \u00e9volue rapidement, et les fabricants de pneus travaillent fort pour suivre le rythme des demandes changeantes et des conditions du march\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ab L&rsquo;industrie des pneus commerciaux continue d&rsquo;\u00e9voluer, les parcs s&rsquo;adaptant aux demandes logistiques changeantes et priorisant le co\u00fbt total de possession lors de la s\u00e9lection des pneus \u00bb, explique Gus Liotta, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, Ventes commerciales &#8211; Canada chez Goodyear. \u00ab Par exemple, certains parcs super-r\u00e9gionaux op\u00e8rent de plus en plus sur des trajets plus courts entre les centres d&rsquo;exp\u00e9dition pour gagner en efficacit\u00e9 et s&rsquo;adapter aux r\u00e9seaux de livraison du dernier kilom\u00e8tre. Pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ce type d\u2019utilisation, les parcs ont donc besoin de pneus qui offrent un kilom\u00e9trage \u00e9lev\u00e9, performent dans des conditions \u00e0 forte abrasion et peuvent \u00eatre rechap\u00e9s afin de maximiser la rentabilit\u00e9 des investissements. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L&rsquo;\u00e9conomie de carburant est un autre enjeu cl\u00e9 pour les parcs commerciaux. \u00ab Nous avons vu une demande accrue pour des pneus \u00e9co\u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques \u00bb, dit Angela Crivoi, gestionnaire principale de planification de march\u00e9 chez Yokohama Tire Canada. \u00ab C&rsquo;est la demande num\u00e9ro un que nous voyons de la part des parcs. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jim Garrett, gestionnaire de cat\u00e9gorie de produits chez Michelin Am\u00e9rique du Nord dit qu&rsquo;il voit une tendance similaire. \u00ab Selon Michelin, la tendance des fabricants de pneus \u00e0 r\u00e9duire la r\u00e9sistance au roulement se poursuit \u00bb, explique-t-il. \u00ab Les nouveaux pneus ont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement une r\u00e9sistance au roulement plus faible. Ceci est d\u00fb aux avanc\u00e9es technologiques, aux compos\u00e9s de caoutchouc et \u00e0 la conception g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des pneus. Cela provient des fabricants de pneus, des \u00e9quipementiers de camions et des parcs qui s&rsquo;efforcent de r\u00e9duire leur impact environnemental. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Livraison du dernier kilom\u00e8tre et commerce \u00e9lectronique<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mme Crivoi de Yokohama note qu&rsquo;elle voit aussi une demande croissante pour des pneus destin\u00e9s au segment de la livraison du dernier kilom\u00e8tre du march\u00e9, surtout depuis que le commerce \u00e9lectronique est si important de nos jours. \u00ab Et puisque les \u00e9missions sont aussi une pr\u00e9occupation croissante \u00bb, ajoute-t-elle, \u00ab nous voyons aussi une croissance du nombre de fourgonnettes de livraison \u00e9lectrifi\u00e9es, et des pneus dont elles ont besoin. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Riley Johnson, directeur national du segment commercial pour Groupe Touchette est d&rsquo;accord. \u00ab Avec l&rsquo;essor du commerce \u00e9lectronique, nous voyons beaucoup plus de camions et de remorques circuler \u00e0 travers le pays \u00bb, explique-t-il. \u00ab Par exemple, nous regardons une grande expansion au port de Vancouver, qui triplera le nombre de conteneurs entrant dans le Lower Mainland, et toute cette cargaison va \u00eatre transport\u00e9e par des camions et des remorques. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En ce qui concerne l&rsquo;\u00e9lectrification, M. Riley note la pr\u00e9sence croissante de camions \u00e9lectriques sur les routes, lesquels requi\u00e8rent des pneus commerciaux capables de supporter le poids suppl\u00e9mentaire et le couple \u00e9lev\u00e9 typiques de ces camions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Pressions sur les prix<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les parcs d&rsquo;aujourd&rsquo;hui en demandent aussi plus pour leur argent, explique James McIntyre, vice-pr\u00e9sident senior, Ventes Canada \/ D\u00e9veloppement de produits Am\u00e9rique du Nord, Sailun Tire Americas. \u00ab Nous voyons plusieurs changements importants dans l&rsquo;espace des pneus commerciaux \u2014 non seulement dans les tendances de produits, mais dans la fa\u00e7on dont les parcs approchent l&rsquo;achat et la gestion des pneus \u00bb, dit-il.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les tarifs sont une grande partie du probl\u00e8me, ajoute M. McIntyre. \u00ab Avec les r\u00e9cents tarifs sur les pneus import\u00e9s de pays manufacturiers cl\u00e9s, le risque d&rsquo;augmentations de prix est bien r\u00e9el. Par cons\u00e9quent, plus que jamais, les parcs doivent examiner attentivement leurs co\u00fbts d&rsquo;exploitation, et les pneus constituent une part consid\u00e9rable du budget \u00bb, dit-il.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>M.McIntyre note qu&rsquo;il semble y avoir un changement dans le comportement des parcs. \u00ab Ils investissent dans des produits qui offrent une dur\u00e9e de vie de la bande de roulement plus longue, une meilleure efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique et, ultimement, un co\u00fbt total de possession plus bas \u00bb, explique-t-il. \u00ab Avec les avanc\u00e9es que nous avons faites dans la technologie des compos\u00e9s et la conception des pneus, nous sommes maintenant capables d&rsquo;offrir des pneus commerciaux qui non seulement durent plus longtemps, mais aident aussi \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer le kilom\u00e9trage \u2014 et tout \u00e7a \u00e0 des \u00e9conomies de prix significatives. Cela s&rsquo;av\u00e8re \u00eatre une proposition de valeur tr\u00e8s attrayante pour les op\u00e9rateurs de parcs confront\u00e9s au contexte \u00e9conomique incertain actuel. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p><b>Tarifs<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les tarifs constituent un enjeu majeur dans le calcul du co\u00fbt total de possession. \u00ab Les prix des pneus commerciaux au Canada augmenteront cette ann\u00e9e, en partie due aux tarifs en cours \u00bb, dit John Hagg, vice-pr\u00e9sident, Ventes et op\u00e9rations chez Huayi Tire Canada. \u00ab Ces co\u00fbts commerciaux additionnels font grimper les prix \u00e0 tous les niveaux de la cha\u00eene d&rsquo;approvisionnement, de la production \u00e0 la distribution. De plus, des facteurs comme les co\u00fbts des mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res, le transport et l&rsquo;inflation contribuent aux augmentations de prix globales \u00e0 travers l&rsquo;industrie. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cela dit, Mike Matesic, gestionnaire de segment de produits, TBR chez Dynamic Tire, explique que les tarifs n&rsquo;impactent pas tous les fabricants de pneus commerciaux \u00e9galement. \u00ab L&rsquo;industrie a d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu une augmentation des prix sur les pneus qui viennent des \u00c9tats-Unis due aux tarifs r\u00e9ciproques \u00bb, dit-il, \u00ab mais pour les produits venant de pays autres que les \u00c9tats-Unis, les activit\u00e9s se poursuivent normalement. La seule incertitude porte sur le taux de change du dollar canadien puisque les pneus sont commercialis\u00e9s globalement en USD. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Impact sur les ventes de pneus commerciaux<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les d\u00e9taillants de pneus se questionnent : cette incertitude va-t-elle faire chuter les ventes de pneus commerciaux cette ann\u00e9e? Selon Hagg de Huayi Tire Canada, la r\u00e9ponse n&rsquo;est pas tranch\u00e9e. \u00ab\u00a0 Les tarifs vont probablement continuer \u00e0 affecter n\u00e9gativement le march\u00e9 des pneus commerciaux au Canada, en particulier pour le transport routier longue distance entre le nord et le sud \u00bb, dit-il. \u00ab Tant qu\u2019il n\u2019y aura pas un nouvel accord ou une modification de l&rsquo;AEUMC, ce segment risque de conna\u00eetre des difficult\u00e9s persistantes. Cependant, la demande pour les pneus de livraison du dernier kilom\u00e8tre reste forte et est susceptible de continuer \u00e0 cro\u00eetre \u2014 du moins tant que les d\u00e9penses des consommateurs restent robustes. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p>M. Matesic de Dynamic Tire est d&rsquo;accord et offre un peu d&rsquo;espoir. \u00ab Si l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 principale de vos clients consiste \u00e0 transporter des marchandises transfrontali\u00e8res lourdement tarif\u00e9es, alors la r\u00e9ponse est simple : oui, vos affaires seront impact\u00e9es \u00bb, dit-il. \u00ab Cela dit, l&rsquo;industrie du camionnage change toujours en fonction des besoins du march\u00e9. Si les camions ne vont pas au sud en raison des tarifs, le trafic portuaire de l&rsquo;est et de l&rsquo;ouest s&rsquo;intensifiera pour r\u00e9pondre aux nouvelles conditions du march\u00e9 et \u00e9viter les tarifs.
