Ce qui m\u2019affecte le plus dans cette histoire de tarifs et d\u2019annexation de notre pays par notre voisin du Sud, c\u2019est mon sentiment d\u2019impuissance. Heureusement, j\u2019ai une solution pour dissoudre cette anxi\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

Au march\u00e9, dans ma main gauche, un sac de croutons made in USA. Dans ma main droite, le m\u00eame produit, mais dans un sac de couleur diff\u00e9rente, fabriqu\u00e9 au Canada, pour 20 cents de plus. J\u2019ach\u00e8te. Si vous saviez \u00e0 quel point ce geste, qui pourrait vous sembler futile, me fait du bien, vous seriez les premiers \u00e0 me transf\u00e9rer 20 cents.<\/p>\n

Ce geste peut sembler futile, mais il ne l\u2019est pas. Je me souviens d\u2019un voyage en Allemagne, o\u00f9 j\u2019avais \u00e9t\u00e9 impressionn\u00e9 de constater que presque tout ce qui m\u2019entourait dans ma chambre d\u2019h\u00f4tel \u00e9tait fabriqu\u00e9 en Allemagne. M\u00eame en jetant un \u0153il \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur, toutes les voitures dans le stationnement, \u00e0 quelques rares exceptions, \u00e9taient produites en Allemagne.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Ce n\u2019est pas plus cher que d\u2019acheter ailleurs \u00bb, ai-je demand\u00e9 le lendemain \u00e0 un coll\u00e8gue allemand. \u00ab Oui, mais \u00e7a fait travailler nos gens et tourner nos entreprises. \u00bb D’accord, c\u2019est clair.<\/p>\n

Il sera difficile pour notre industrie de se rabattre exclusivement sur des produits nationaux. Nous assemblons ici des voitures avec des composants locaux et \u00e9trangers. De plus, plusieurs v\u00e9hicules proviennent d\u2019Europe et d\u2019Asie. Le prix des voitures et des pi\u00e8ces de remplacement, fabriqu\u00e9es aux \u00c9tats-Unis avec notre acier et notre aluminium, risque de gonfler.<\/p>\n

J\u2019entends que 120 000 \u00e0 150 000 emplois seraient en jeu au Qu\u00e9bec si nos exportations souffrent de ces tarifs arbitraires sur une longue p\u00e9riode. C\u2019est un coup dur et injustifi\u00e9 pour notre \u00e9conomie. Cependant, avec environ 4,5 millions de travailleurs au Qu\u00e9bec, on ne peut pas parler de l\u2019\u00e9croulement de notre march\u00e9 du travail.<\/p>\n

J\u2019en reviens \u00e0 mes croutons. Si j\u2019ach\u00e8te davantage de produits d\u2019ici, les usines devront produire davantage et engager du personnel. Si ce choix, d\u2019origine \u00e9motionnelle, que je semble partager avec un grand nombre de mes concitoyens, se maintient dans le temps, nous allons rapidement r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer les emplois perdus. Un crouton \u00e0 la fois.<\/p>\n
