Pirelli enrichit sa gamme hivernale avec un nouveau pneu de remplacement non clout\u00e9, le ICE FRICTION.<\/strong><\/p>\n

D\u00e9velopp\u00e9 pour offrir une performance compl\u00e8te sur la neige, la glace et les surfaces d\u00e9tremp\u00e9es, il allie adh\u00e9rence et durabilit\u00e9, tout en proposant une faible r\u00e9sistance au roulement et un confort acoustique. L\u2019objectif de l\u2019entreprise italienne est clair : \u00ab\u2009Nous voulions fabriquer un pneu qui ne fait aucun compromis sur l\u2019ensemble des attributs de l\u2019hiver. Ce pneu doit fonctionner \u00e0 tous points de vue\u2009\u00bb, explique Ian Coke, directeur technique pour Pirelli Am\u00e9rique du Nord.<\/p>\n

L\u2019un des piliers technologiques de ce pneumatique repose sur une construction \u00e0 double couche de compos\u00e9. La couche sup\u00e9rieure est formul\u00e9e pour maximiser l\u2019adh\u00e9rence sur surface glac\u00e9e, d\u00e9tremp\u00e9e ou froide, quel que soit le type de motorisation. Quant \u00e0 la couche inf\u00e9rieure, elle diff\u00e8re selon qu\u2019il s\u2019agit d\u2019un v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique ou thermique. Plus rigide, elle influe directement sur la r\u00e9sistance au roulement, o\u00f9 se perd une part importante de l\u2019\u00e9nergie consomm\u00e9e par le v\u00e9hicule. Ce travail sur la gestion et la minimisation des pertes d\u2019\u00e9nergie contribue, d\u2019apr\u00e8s Pirelli, \u00e0 un gain d\u2019autonomie estim\u00e9 entre 5 et 8\u2009% pour les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques (VE).<\/p>\n

Le compos\u00e9 lui-m\u00eame s\u2019appuie sur un plastifiant durable \u00e0 base d\u2019huile v\u00e9g\u00e9tale, qui permet au pneu de conserver sa souplesse et son \u00e9lasticit\u00e9 sur une large plage de temp\u00e9ratures. Ce compos\u00e9 int\u00e8gre \u00e9galement des nanoaimants, qui modulent ses caract\u00e9ristiques selon la temp\u00e9rature ambiante, \u00e9largissant ainsi sa fen\u00eatre de performance.<\/p>\n

Le dessin de la bande de roulement du ICE FRICTION adopte un design sym\u00e9trique agressif en V, combin\u00e9 \u00e0 une semelle directionnelle. Ce profil favorise l\u2019\u00e9vacuation rapide de l\u2019eau, de la gadoue et de la glace, limitant d\u00e8s lors les risques d\u2019aquaplanage. Les larges rainures m\u00e9dianes et la rainure centrale travaillent de concert pour offrir une adh\u00e9rence optimale, tandis que les lamelles emprisonnent la neige, augmentant la surface de contact avec la chauss\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Performant et s\u00e9curitaire<\/strong><\/p>\n

Les blocs de bande de roulement ont \u00e9t\u00e9 redessin\u00e9s pour maintenir leur performance malgr\u00e9 l\u2019usure. Au fil des kilom\u00e8tres, la bande de roulement conserve son design et r\u00e9v\u00e8le de nouvelles lamelles en trois dimensions situ\u00e9es sous la couche superficielle, contribuant \u00e0 pr\u00e9server une bonne partie de la traction tout au long de la dur\u00e9e de vie du pneu. Aux dires du fabricant, le ICE FRICTION retient 83\u2009% de ses performances d\u2019origine lorsqu\u2019il atteint le seuil d\u2019indicateur de remplacement. \u00ab\u2009Ce pneu doit \u00eatre s\u00e9curitaire du moment o\u00f9 vous l\u2019achetez jusqu\u2019au jour o\u00f9 il doit \u00eatre remplac\u00e9\u2009\u00bb, soutient M.\u2009Coke.<\/p>\n

Au total, le Pirelli ICE FRICTION se d\u00e9cline en 46\u00a0codes de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence, dont 22 sp\u00e9cifiquement destin\u00e9s aux VE et identifi\u00e9s par le marquage ELECT. Ces versions int\u00e8grent une construction distinctive, capable de supporter le poids sup\u00e9rieur des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques, tout en optimisant la gestion du couple instantan\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Les produits estampill\u00e9s du sigle ELECT incluent \u00e9galement le Pirelli Noise Cancelling System<\/em> (PNCS), un dispositif compos\u00e9 d\u2019un mat\u00e9riau insonorisant appliqu\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du pneu. Ce syst\u00e8me permet de r\u00e9duire de moiti\u00e9 le bruit dans l\u2019habitacle comparativement \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation d\u2019un pneu traditionnel.<\/p>\n

Pour valider les performances et la pr\u00e9dictibilit\u00e9 de son ICE FRICTION, Pirelli a organis\u00e9 un \u00e9v\u00e9nement m\u00e9dia sur le circuit ICAR situ\u00e9 \u00e0 Mirabel. Le premier module portait sur les essais d\u2019une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de v\u00e9hicules \u00e9quip\u00e9s du ICE FRICTION sur neige et glace, sur un parcours de slalom, de virage et de freinage d\u2019urgence. Deux des modules visaient \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer les capacit\u00e9s de ses autres produits de sa gamme hivernale, dont les SottoZero et les Scorpion, dans diverses conditions. Berlines et utilitaires ont zigzagu\u00e9 entre les c\u00f4nes tandis que les Land Rover Defender et camionnettes Ford\u00a0F-150 ont fait \u00e9talage de leurs atouts sur un sentier hors route. Enfin, \u00e0 bord de Subaru WRX STI chauss\u00e9es de pneus clout\u00e9s, nous avons pu tester les limites de l\u2019adh\u00e9rence sur piste.<\/p>\n

Le nouveau Pirelli ICE FRICTION illustre la volont\u00e9 du fabricant de trouver l\u2019\u00e9quilibre entre les performances hivernales, la durabilit\u00e9 et l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique. \u00ab\u2009S\u2019il est possible d\u2019am\u00e9liorer les aspects techniques, de m\u00eame que l\u2019exp\u00e9rience du consommateur, nous le ferons.
