Avec plusieurs nouveaux mod\u00e8les de v\u00e9hicules de pr\u00e9vus par le constructeur scandinave, le concessionnaire Volvo Laval se positionne avantageusement avec des installations plus accueillantes et offrant plus de capacit\u00e9s.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lorsqu\u2019on op\u00e8re une concession automobile, on nourrit plusieurs objectifs. L\u2019un d\u2019eux est la croissance. C\u2019est tout naturel. Cette croissance doit tenir compte d\u2019une foule de consid\u00e9rations, dont le respect des standards \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur desquels on fonctionne, mais aussi de ceux que l\u2019on souhaite atteindre\u2009; les attentes de 2024 ne sont pas celles de 1984.<\/p>\n

Chez Volvo Laval, on a r\u00e9cemment franchi une des \u00e9tapes importantes de cette croissance\u00a0: un d\u00e9m\u00e9nagement pour occuper de nouvelles installations plus grandes, plus adapt\u00e9es et \u00e0 la fine pointe des technologies. Ainsi, depuis d\u00e9cembre dernier, ce n\u2019est plus au 2350, boulevard Chomedey que l\u2019on retrouve Volvo Laval, mais bien au coin des autoroutes\u00a0440 et 19\u00a0que l\u2019on peut voir tr\u00f4ner le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre logo \u00ab\u00a0Je roule\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Deux ans de pr\u00e9paration<\/strong><\/p>\n

Le projet de construction d\u2019une nouvelle concession a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 germer il y a environ deux ans. Pour Philippe Fortier, vice-pr\u00e9sident des op\u00e9rations, le temps \u00e9tait venu de passer \u00e0 autre chose, afin d\u2019\u00eatre en mesure de \u00ab\u00a0mieux r\u00e9pondre aux besoins de la client\u00e8le\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

La construction s\u2019est amorc\u00e9e en 2023 et s\u2019est dans l\u2019ensemble bien d\u00e9roul\u00e9e. \u00ab\u00a0Il y a toujours des ajustements. \u00c7a commence avec un plan, une id\u00e9e, puis le constructeur automobile a son mot \u00e0 dire. Il fallait aussi respecter le plan d\u2019\u00e9lectrification, et nous voulions un b\u00e2timent \u00e9coresponsable. En deux ans, des choses ont chang\u00e9, alors il y a eu des retouches, mais rien de majeur\u00a0\u00bb, explique M. Fortier.<\/p>\n

Le b\u00e2timent, qui occupe 33\u00a0054\u00a0pi2<\/sup>, est \u00e9rig\u00e9 sur un terrain d\u2019une superficie totale de 120\u00a0000\u00a0pi2<\/sup>. La liste de ses caract\u00e9ristiques durables est impressionnante\u00a0: vitres opaques qui diffusent quand m\u00eame la lumi\u00e8re\u00a0; am\u00e9nagement de terrasses, y compris une au deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tage pour les employ\u00e9s\u00a0; syst\u00e8me de climatisation sophistiqu\u00e9\u00a0; d\u00e9tecteur de mouvement pour \u00e9conomiser de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9\u00a0; lavabos qui fonctionnent avec le mouvement des mains pour r\u00e9duire la consommation d\u2019eau, etc.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Ce sont une foule de petits d\u00e9tails qui finissent par faire la diff\u00e9rence, indique le vice-pr\u00e9sident. D\u2019ailleurs, nous sommes en attente de notre certification LEED.\u00a0\u00bb Cette derni\u00e8re concerne six grandes th\u00e9matiques, soit l\u2019am\u00e9nagement du site, la gestion de l\u2019eau, l\u2019utilisation et la gestion des mat\u00e9riaux et des ressources, l\u2019innovation, la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019environnement et la performance \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9quipe regroup\u00e9e<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00c0 la lumi\u00e8re des am\u00e9liorations obtenues avec la nouvelle concession, il est clair que tout le monde y gagne au change. La salle de d\u00e9monstration est plus grande, tout comme l\u2019atelier m\u00e9canique, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 pens\u00e9 diff\u00e9remment. \u00ab\u00a0Il est m\u00eame climatis\u00e9, ce qui est tr\u00e8s appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 de nos techniciens\u00a0\u00bb, pr\u00e9cise Philippe Fortier, avant d\u2019ajouter que puisqu\u2019ils profitent d\u2019espaces mieux am\u00e9nag\u00e9s pour la r\u00e9alisation de leur travail, ils livrent ind\u00e9niablement un meilleur service \u00e0 la client\u00e8le.<\/p>\n

Au deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9tage, les bureaux administratifs sont plus nombreux et offrent plus d\u2019espace aux employ\u00e9s, dont l\u2019environnement de travail est plus agr\u00e9able. De plus, les espaces de stationnement sont aussi plus nombreux.<\/p>\n

Le groupe Taddeo Auto, qui poss\u00e8de aussi Volvo West-Island, Polestar Montr\u00e9al et Vicinity Laval, a profit\u00e9 de cette nouvelle structure pour centraliser ses op\u00e9rations.<\/p>\n

Fort de 150\u00a0employ\u00e9s en tout, il en concentre 35 au sein de la nouvelle concession de Laval, dont plusieurs repr\u00e9sentants aux ventes, deux conseillers techniques, un directeur des pi\u00e8ces, trois commis aux pi\u00e8ces, ainsi que huit m\u00e9caniciens.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u2009Tout a \u00e9t\u00e9 pens\u00e9 pour l\u2019optimisation, confirme le responsable. Par exemple, nous n\u2019avions pas, \u00e0 l\u2019ancienne concession, de baies r\u00e9serv\u00e9es aux livraisons, avec des chargeurs pour les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques. D\u00e9sormais, on en compte deux.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n

D\u2019ailleurs, si on s\u2019attarde au volet \u00e9lectrification, on r\u00e9alise que tout a \u00e9t\u00e9 pens\u00e9 en cons\u00e9quence. \u00ab\u00a0En entrant sur le site, on retrouve un terre-plein qui s\u00e9pare Volvo et Polestar, avec des chargeurs mis \u00e0 la disposition de la client\u00e8le. \u00c7a facilite tout. Si on doit pr\u00eater un v\u00e9hicule au client, il est plus facile de le livrer avec une pleine charge. Il en va de m\u00eame pour les propri\u00e9taires qui le laissent au service pour la journ\u00e9e. Disposer d\u2019une meilleure capacit\u00e9 de recharge nous permet de le leur rendre avec une pleine charge\u00a0\u00bb, indique M. Fortier.<\/p>\n

Objectif croissance<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tous ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments vont permettre \u00e0 la nouvelle concession et, plus largement, au groupe Taddeo Auto de r\u00e9aliser ses objectifs de croissance. Dans ses anciennes installations, Volvo Laval livrait environ 650\u00a0mod\u00e8les neufs par ann\u00e9e, ainsi qu\u2019environ 250 d\u2019occasion. Philippe Fortier souhaiterait faire gonfler ces chiffres \u00e0 900 et \u00e0 350, respectivement.<\/p>\n

Nul doute que les nouvelles installations vont rendre la chose possible, d\u2019autant plus que Volvo pr\u00e9voit d\u2019ajouter des mod\u00e8les \u00e0 sa gamme, \u00e0 commencer par les nouveaux VUS \u00e9lectriques\u00a0EX90 et EX30, attendus avec impatience.<\/p>\n

Philippe Fortier, qui a amorc\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re en 2018 au sein du groupe Taddeo Auto comme directeur des ventes, avant de gravir les \u00e9chelons, croit d\u2019ailleurs au potentiel de la famille Volvo avec ces nouveaux mod\u00e8les. \u00ab\u00a0Actuellement, notre produit le plus vendu est le VUS\u00a0XC40, mais on s\u2019attend \u00e0 une forte demande pour le nouveau EX30\u00a0\u00bb confirme-t-il.<\/p>\n

Quant au EX90, qui s\u2019appr\u00eate \u00e0 faire ses d\u00e9buts, nos lecteurs sont conscients qu\u2019il s\u2019agit d\u2019un produit de niche, mais qu\u2019il repr\u00e9sente un bel exemple de l\u2019endroit o\u00f9 la compagnie est rendue en mati\u00e8re de technologie et o\u00f9 elle compte se diriger vers l\u2019avenir.<\/p>\n

Volvo a toujours occup\u00e9 une place importante dans le c\u0153ur des Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois. Si un certain passage \u00e0 vide a marqu\u00e9 les ann\u00e9es 2000 \u00e0 2020, on sent un engouement rena\u00eetre avec la fili\u00e8re \u00e9lectrique de l\u2019entreprise. La nouvelle concession de Volvo Laval pourrait par cons\u00e9quent profiter d\u2019un meilleur contexte pour r\u00e9aliser ses objectifs.<\/p>\n
