La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 produit actuellement des feuilles de cuivre au Luxembourg et des feuilles de cuivre destin\u00e9es \u00e0 la fabrication de batteries en Hongrie. L&rsquo;usine de Granby sera la troisi\u00e8me du type et r\u00e9pondra \u00e0 la demande croissante du march\u00e9 nord-am\u00e9ricain.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab La feuille de cuivre joue un r\u00f4le essentiel puisqu&rsquo;elle agit \u00e0 titre de collecteur de courant dans la fabrication des batteries lithium-ion, qui sont couramment utilis\u00e9es dans les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son emplacement g\u00e9ographique strat\u00e9gique qui lui donne un acc\u00e8s privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 au march\u00e9 nord-am\u00e9ricain et \u00e0 son solide engagement politique \u00e0 faire de la fabrication de batteries \u00e9lectriques un secteur cl\u00e9 de son \u00e9conomie, le Qu\u00e9bec est l&#8217;emplacement id\u00e9al pour implanter la premi\u00e8re usine nord-am\u00e9ricaine de Volta \u00bb, explique Dejae Chin, pr\u00e9sident de Solus Advanced Materials et de Volta Energy Solutions. \u00ab L&rsquo;appui des gouvernements canadien et qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois ainsi que de la Ville de Granby a \u00e9t\u00e9 essentiel au succ\u00e8s de ce lancement. Notre \u00e9quipe est d\u00e9termin\u00e9e \u00e0 accro\u00eetre l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 de la cha\u00eene d&rsquo;approvisionnement locale de batteries pour v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques dans les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Volta planifie entamer sa production destin\u00e9e au march\u00e9 canadien en 2026 et \u00e0 vendre son produit \u00e0 des clients nord-am\u00e9ricains. Dans un premier temps, 25 000 tonnes de feuilles de cuivre seront fabriqu\u00e9es par an. Ce chiffre passera \u00e0 63 000 tonnes par an au cours de la deuxi\u00e8me phase du projet.
