\u00ab Cet investissement d\u00e9montre encore une fois que le Canada est le partenaire strat\u00e9gique vert de choix pour les leaders mondiaux de l’industrie de l’automobile, \u00bb a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 l’honorable Fran\u00e7ois-Philippe Champagne, ministre de l’Innovation, des Sciences et de l’Industrie. \u00ab Aujourd’hui, on renforce la place cl\u00e9 que le Qu\u00e9bec occupe dans la cha\u00eene d’approvisionnement en v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques alors que nous continuons \u00e0 b\u00e2tir notre \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de batterie. Cet investissement est bon pour l’environnement; il est bon pour l’\u00e9conomie; et il assurera le maintien d’emplois bien r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9s pour des ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

L’usine sera construite par un consortium form\u00e9 de la Ford Motor Company et des entreprises cor\u00e9ennes EcoProBM et SK On. Estim\u00e9 \u00e0 plus de 1,2 milliard de dollars, ce projet cr\u00e9era plus de 345 emplois.<\/span><\/p>\n

L’usine d’EcoPro CAM Canada produira en moyenne 45 000 tonnes de mat\u00e9riaux actifs de cathode par ann\u00e9e. La production sera destin\u00e9e \u00e0 la fabrication de batteries pour les futurs v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques de Ford. L’usine devrait \u00eatre op\u00e9rationnelle en 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Je suis tr\u00e8s fier que le Qu\u00e9bec attire de gros joueurs du calibre de Ford-EcoProBM-SK On \u00bb, a pour sa part d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le premier ministre du Qu\u00e9bec, Fran\u00e7ois Legault. \u00ab Apr\u00e8s GM-Posco ce printemps, on annonce un nouvel investissement majeur de 1,2 milliard de dollars dans la Vall\u00e9e de la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique pour la construction d’une usine de mat\u00e9riaux actifs de cathode \u00e0 B\u00e9cancour. On est en train de b\u00e2tir les fondations d’une industrie qui va permettre au Qu\u00e9bec de devenir un leader de l’\u00e9conomie verte en Am\u00e9rique du Nord et dans le monde. Avec la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, on a la chance de s’imposer dans la nouvelle \u00e9conomie et de devenir plus riches tout en r\u00e9duisant les \u00e9missions mondiales de GES. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

L’aide financi\u00e8re se r\u00e9partit comme suit : le gouvernement du Canada verse une contribution conditionnelle de 322 millions de dollars, par l’interm\u00e9diaire du Fonds strat\u00e9gique pour l’innovation; et le gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec accorde, par l’entremise d’Investissement Qu\u00e9bec, un pr\u00eat de 322 millions de dollars en partie pardonnable.<\/span><\/p>\n
