Le ministre des transports, l’honorable Omar Alghabra, a annonc\u00e9 qu’en plus des mesures existantes, les agents de contr\u00f4le pourront imposer des amendes aux conducteurs ou aux entreprises qui enfreignent le r\u00e8glement sur les heures de service des conducteurs de v\u00e9hicules utilitaires.<\/strong><\/p>\n

R\u00e8glement sur les contraventions<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ce changement a \u00e9t\u00e9 rendu possible par la modification du r\u00e8glement sur les contraventions, qui pr\u00e9voit de nouvelles fa\u00e7ons d’\u00e9noncer les contraventions aux heures de service, y compris le montant des amendes.<\/p>\n

Le r\u00e8glement sur les heures de service est essentiel pour promouvoir la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re, car il fixe la dur\u00e9e pendant laquelle les conducteurs de v\u00e9hicules utilitaires peuvent conduire leur v\u00e9hicule avant de se reposer. Elles d\u00e9finissent \u00e9galement les exigences en mati\u00e8re d’enregistrement et de d\u00e9claration pour les v\u00e9hicules commerciaux et les exploitants de parcs.<\/p>\n

En d\u00e9signant certaines dispositions du r\u00e8glement sur les heures de service des conducteurs de v\u00e9hicules utilitaires comme des contraventions, les autorit\u00e9s disposent d’un nouvel outil permettant une application rapide de la loi. Auparavant, les contrevenants \u00e0 ces r\u00e9glementations ne pouvaient \u00eatre soumis qu’\u00e0 des avertissements ou passer par une proc\u00e9dure judiciaire, ce qui prenait beaucoup de temps et mettait \u00e0 rude \u00e9preuve le syst\u00e8me judiciaire.<\/p>\n

Ces nouvelles mesures d’application s’appuient sur d’autres actions prises par le gouvernement du Canada pour pr\u00e9venir la fatigue des conducteurs de v\u00e9hicules utilitaires, notamment l’obligation pour les conducteurs de camions et de bus soumis \u00e0 la r\u00e9glementation f\u00e9d\u00e9rale d’utiliser des dispositifs de contr\u00f4le \u00e9lectronique de la consommation d’\u00e9nergie.<\/p>\n
