Photo Sailun<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>James McIntyre, vice-pr\u00e9sident des ventes canadiennes chez Sailun Tire Americas, confirme avoir constat\u00e9 une tendance qui favorise les pneus UHP toutes-saisons. \u00ab Auparavant, UHP \u00e9tait synonyme de pneus ultra-haute performance d\u00e9di\u00e9s, sans r\u00e9elle capacit\u00e9 toutes-saisons, explique-t-il. Aujourd\u2019hui, nous constatons une tendance [towards all-season UHP tires] parce que de nombreux VUC et VUS arrivent sur le march\u00e9 avec de plus grandes roues qui n\u00e9cessitent un pneu UHP. Cependant, les clients veulent aussi un pneu silencieux, \u00e9conome en carburant et confortable. C\u2019est l\u00e0 que les pneus toutes-saisons entrent en jeu. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Cela ne signifie pas que le march\u00e9 traditionnel UHP est mort. \u00ab On constate toujours une demande pour un pneu UHP traditionnel sur un v\u00e9hicule comme une Corvette, par exemple, ajoute M. McIntyre. Mais un v\u00e9hicule comme le Honda CR-V peut \u00eatre livr\u00e9 avec un ensemble de 19 pouces et un pneu qui ressemble davantage \u00e0 un pneu toutes-saisons avec des capacit\u00e9s UHP en termes de vitesse et de maniabilit\u00e9. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le vice-pr\u00e9sident explique qu\u2019il y a quelques ann\u00e9es, les pneus UHP \u00e9taient con\u00e7us pour les amateurs de performances. Ils avaient de gros pav\u00e9s de bande de roulement, un indice de vitesse \u00e9lev\u00e9 et \u00e9taient con\u00e7us pour offrir une traction maximale. \u00ab Mais les pneus UHP de la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration auront davantage de caract\u00e9ristiques toutes-saisons, affirme-t-il. Prenons l\u2019exemple d\u2019un v\u00e9hicule comme l\u2019Audi A6 ou S6. Ces v\u00e9hicules n\u2019ont pas besoin d\u2019un pneu UHP pur. Photo Yokohama<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Le march\u00e9 des pneus UHP semble se diviser en deux groupes distincts, les clients de chaque groupe recherchant des pneus r\u00e9pondant \u00e0 deux besoins diff\u00e9rents. D\u2019une part, il y a les v\u00e9ritables amateurs de performances qui conduisent des voitures con\u00e7ues pour se comporter et rouler comme des voitures sport. Ces clients rechercheront g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement un v\u00e9ritable pneu UHP. \u00ab Un pneu qui peut aller sur les pistes de course \u00bb, pr\u00e9cise M. McIntyre.<\/p>\n<p>Le second groupe est constitu\u00e9 des consommateurs qui ont besoin d\u2019un pneu UHP parce que leur v\u00e9hicule en est \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019origine. Ces clients n\u2019iront jamais sur un circuit, et ils ne conduisent pas leur VUS, VUC ou berline avec le m\u00eame \u00ab besoin de vitesse \u00bb ou les m\u00eames attentes en mati\u00e8re de performance et de maniabilit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Ce sont ces clients qui seront les plus satisfaits avec un pneu UHP toutes-saisons, parce qu\u2019il offre une conduite plus silencieuse et plus confortable. Comme le montrent les donn\u00e9es du rapport de <i>Market Research Future<\/i>, il s\u2019agit du segment du march\u00e9 UHP qui devrait conna\u00eetre la croissance la plus rapide.<\/p>\n<p>Jack McClure, directeur du segment PLT chez Sailun Tire Americas, voit une grande diff\u00e9rence entre les deux types d\u2019acheteurs de pneus UHP. \u00ab Certaines personnes veulent un pneu UHP qui offre des performances, explique-t-il. Peut-\u00eatre iront-ils s\u2019amuser sur les pistes, ou encore ils remisent leur v\u00e9hicule pour l\u2019hiver. Ils peuvent donc accepter un pneu qui n\u2019offre pas de performances toutes-saisons. La majorit\u00e9 des consommateurs, cependant, voudront la taille et l\u2019aspect d\u2019un pneu UHP, mais ils veulent aussi du confort et faire plus de kilom\u00e9trage avec leurs pneus. C\u2019est l\u00e0 que les pneus toutes-saisons entrent en jeu. Ils sont id\u00e9aux pour ce deuxi\u00e8me groupe de consommateurs. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Certains consommateurs ignorent m\u00eame qu\u2019ils ont achet\u00e9 un v\u00e9hicule muni de pneus HP ou UHP. \u00ab Ils sont surpris, poursuit M. McClure. Ils aiment leur v\u00e9hicule, mais au moment de remplacer les pneus d\u2019origine, ils ne se rendent pas compte qu\u2019ils ont des jantes de 20 ou 21 pouces. En regardant les prix, ils auront probablement besoin d\u2019explications. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Il incombe aux d\u00e9taillants de pneus d\u2019informer et d\u2019\u00e9duquer le client, ajoute M. McClure. \u00ab Quels sont les avantages ? Comment augmenter le kilom\u00e9trage ? Comment obtenir plus de confort ? Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, nous avions des pneus Standard Load (SL) et Extra Load (XL), mais avec l\u2019av\u00e8nement des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques, la nouvelle classification HL garantit que ces nouveaux pneus peuvent supporter les batteries beaucoup plus lourdes que l\u2019on trouve dans les V\u00c9 modernes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Les pneus \u00e0 capacit\u00e9 de charge \u00e9lev\u00e9e ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s pour augmenter la charge [rating], en particulier pour les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques \u00bb, explique Angela Crivoi, directrice de la planification des march\u00e9s, segment consommateurs chez Yokohama Tire Canada. \u00ab Les pneus HL ne sont pas r\u00e9serv\u00e9s aux v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques, mais ils y trouveront probablement un march\u00e9 naturel. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Dans un r\u00e9cent bulletin technique, Yokohama explique la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 des pneus HL. \u00ab Le poids \u00e0 vide des v\u00e9hicules grand public augmente consid\u00e9rablement. Le Ford F-150 Lightening (V\u00c9) p\u00e8se environ 725 kg de plus que le F-150 \u00e0 combustion interne (ICE) de m\u00eame taille. Une Tesla Model S EV p\u00e8se plus de 590 kg de plus qu\u2019une Toyota Camry (ICE) de m\u00eame taille (2222 kg contre 1632 kg). Cette tendance s\u2019applique \u00e0 tous les types de v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9volution de l\u2019industrie automobile s\u2019accompagne d\u2019une demande pour de nouveaux pneus plus performants.
