Lors de sa visite au salon SEMA 2022, Autosphere<\/em> s’est arr\u00eat\u00e9 au pavillon Shell\/Pennzoil sur le Silver Lot, devant le Central Hall du Las Vegas Convention Center.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nous avons eu la chance d’y rencontrer Bassem Kheireddin, directeur de la technologie, sports motoris\u00e9s, pour Shell Lubricants, et le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre pilote professionnel autodidacte de sports motoris\u00e9s et de Formule Drift Vaughn Gittin Jr, qui dirige \u00e9galement l’\u00e9quipe RTR Drift et RTR Vehicles, qui d\u00e9veloppe et produit des voitures et des camions de performance de rue bas\u00e9s sur la technologie Ford.<\/p>\n

Kheireddin a expliqu\u00e9 que les d\u00e9cennies d’exp\u00e9rience de Shell dans le domaine des sports automobiles ont permis \u00e0 l’entreprise de formuler des huiles capables de r\u00e9sister aux conditions de performance les plus extr\u00eames. Shell est le partenaire lubrifiant officiel des NTT Indycar Series, o\u00f9 des moteurs V6 biturbo de 2,2 litres \u00e0 double arbre \u00e0 cames en t\u00eate, relativement petits, d\u00e9veloppent jusqu’\u00e0 750 ch et doivent supporter jusqu’\u00e0 800 km d’utilisation \u00e0 grande vitesse et \u00e0 haut r\u00e9gime. Dans ce type d’environnement, la technologie utilis\u00e9e pour d\u00e9velopper des lubrifiants destin\u00e9s \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger ces moteurs peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre appliqu\u00e9e aux v\u00e9hicules routiers. Cela devient particuli\u00e8rement pertinent \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 la pression exerc\u00e9e sur les \u00e9quipementiers pour qu’ils fassent continuellement pression en faveur d’objectifs plus stricts en mati\u00e8re d’\u00e9conomie de carburant et d’\u00e9missions pour les moteurs \u00e0 combustion interne. Et avec des produits comme Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, les centres de service peuvent avoir la certitude que l’huile qu’ils vendent et versent dans les v\u00e9hicules de leurs clients est capable de r\u00e9sister aux conditions de fonctionnement les plus difficiles.<\/p>\n

Comme pour illustrer ce point, nous avons \u00e9galement eu l’occasion de demander \u00e0 Vaughn Gittin Junior (qui se fait appeler JR). Il a fait part de ses r\u00e9flexions sur l’utilisation des produits Pennzoil dans ses v\u00e9hicules de course. \u00ab La lubrification est absolument essentielle dans un sport comme le drift, a expliqu\u00e9 JR, et nous avons les pannes de moteur pour le prouver. \u00bb Et c’est ce sc\u00e9nario qui a conduit \u00e0 la relation avec Shell\/Pennzoil. L’\u00e9quipe RTR utilise les culasses FR9 de Ford Racing, conformes aux normes NASCAR, combin\u00e9es \u00e0 un bloc personnalis\u00e9 pour ses Mustang de drift. Ces moteurs sont r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement port\u00e9s \u00e0 9000 tr\/min et combin\u00e9s \u00e0 une injection d’oxyde d’azote de 350 \u00e0 400 ch. Dans ces conditions extr\u00eames, mais aussi pour les courses tout-terrain de RTR, les r\u00e9sultats ont \u00e9t\u00e9 ph\u00e9nom\u00e9naux. \u00ab Nous n’avons tout simplement plus de pannes comme avant \u00bb, explique JR, \u00ab et nos remises \u00e0 neuf sont plut\u00f4t routini\u00e8res. Et nous utilisons un produit standard \u2013 c’est le m\u00eame produit que vous pouvez acheter dans votre Jiffy Lube local ou votre magasin de pi\u00e8ces automobiles. \u00bb<\/p>\n
