Dans un r\u00e9cent \u00e9pisode de l\u2019Indice McSween sur les ondes de T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec, l\u2019animateur a mis \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve un concessionnaire automobile sur le respect de la garantie du constructeur lorsque l\u2019entretien est effectu\u00e9 dans un atelier ind\u00e9pendant.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lors de l\u2019\u00e9pisode<\/a>\u00a0de cette populaire \u00e9mission d\u2019information destin\u00e9e aux consommateurs, Pierre-Yves McSween se met en sc\u00e8ne comme \u00e9tant le propri\u00e9taire d\u2019un v\u00e9hicule neuf souhaitant prendre rendez-vous pour un entretien m\u00e9canique recommand\u00e9 de sa voiture. Il s\u2019adresse d\u2019abord \u00e0 son atelier ind\u00e9pendant qui lui indique le prix et un taux horaire d\u2019environ 100 dollars.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Par la suite, il contacte deux concessionnaires. Dans le premier cas, non seulement on lui explique que le tarif horaire est de 172 dollars, mais que si le travail est effectu\u00e9 par un atelier ind\u00e9pendant, cela est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une modification sur le v\u00e9hicule qui annule de fait la garantie du constructeur.<\/p>\n

Le second d\u00e9partement de service de concessionnaire lui explique plut\u00f4t que l\u2019entretien recommand\u00e9 par le constructeur peut tr\u00e8s bien \u00eatre fait dans un atelier ind\u00e9pendant et que la garantie du fabricant s\u2019appliquera pourvu que les p\u00e9riodes recommand\u00e9es d\u2019entretien soient respect\u00e9es et que les travaux sont appuy\u00e9s par des factures.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Il y a encore malheureusement beaucoup de d\u00e9sinformation, d\u00e9plore Denis Pageau, directeur du r\u00e9seau Garage recommand\u00e9 de CAA-Qu\u00e9bec. Des membres nous appellent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement pour confirmer qu\u2019ils peuvent faire l\u2019entretien dans l\u2019atelier de leur choix si c\u2019est fait dans les r\u00e8gles de l\u2019art et document\u00e9, et que la garantie du constructeur sera toujours valide. Nous avons encore des dossiers litigieux avec des concessionnaires qui refusent d\u2019honorer la garantie d\u2019origine. L\u2019important pour le consommateur, c\u2019est de respecter la grille des entretiens recommand\u00e9s et d\u2019avoir en main toutes les factures justificatives.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

M. Pageau constate que plusieurs ateliers ind\u00e9pendants de m\u00e9caniques affichent sous une forme ou l\u2019autre l\u2019avis de l\u2019AIA Canada, qui explique clairement aux clients qu\u2019ils ont le droit de choisir l\u2019atelier qui leur convient.
