Dans le cadre de son Sommet 2022 CARSTAR qui se d\u00e9roule \u00e0 Nashville au Tennessee, la haute direction de ce r\u00e9seau de carrossiers qui compte pr\u00e8s de 1000 ateliers en Am\u00e9rique du Nord a fait le point sur l\u2019industrie lors d\u2019une table ronde.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dean Fisher, pr\u00e9sident de Driven Brands Collision, repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 au Canada par CARSTAR, a soulign\u00e9 que pour son r\u00e9seau, l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2021 avait \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s positive et que cette p\u00e9riode trouble affichait des indicateurs de performance \u00e0 la hausse dans les carrosseries de ce r\u00e9seau.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Les ateliers du r\u00e9seau sont des franchis\u00e9s qui demeurent des entreprises ind\u00e9pendantes, mentionnait-il lors de la discussion \u00e0 laquelle les journalistes sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s \u00e9taient invit\u00e9s. Cela leur conf\u00e8re un cadre de travail et des outils pour les aider dans leurs op\u00e9rations, mais leur laisse toute la flexibilit\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 s\u2019adapter rapidement aux changements de situation. La COVID et leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 faire face au bouleversement qu\u2019elle a provoqu\u00e9 en est une illustration.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Du point de vue corporatif, la COVID a aussi n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 la r\u00e9vision de ses outils de communication, de formation et de suivi de performance. \u00ab\u00a0Nous pouvons certes travailler \u00e0 distance pour certaines op\u00e9rations dans le r\u00e9seau, mais nous sommes des gens de terrain\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il soulign\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Pi\u00e8ces et main-d\u2019\u0153uvre<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Fisher a mentionn\u00e9 que les probl\u00e8mes d\u2019approvisionnement en pi\u00e8ces automobiles et la raret\u00e9 de la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre repr\u00e9sentaient des d\u00e9fis pour les carrossiers. Il a dit que le r\u00e9seau milite pour la r\u00e9paration des pi\u00e8ces, dans les cas o\u00f9 cela est possible, au lieu de leur remplacement, notant que cela a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 plus profitable pour les ateliers. Pour la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre le pr\u00e9sident invite les gestionnaires d\u2019atelier \u00e0 offrir un environnement agr\u00e9able \u00e0 leurs travailleurs, un acc\u00e8s aux derni\u00e8res technologies et surtout, la possibilit\u00e9 de construire une carri\u00e8re au sein de l\u2019entreprise.<\/p>\n

Alors que la question des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques \u00e9tait abord\u00e9e, Jeff Labanovich, directeur des op\u00e9rations pour CARSTAR Canada, a pris la parole pour parler de la situation de notre c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la fronti\u00e8re. \u00ab\u00a0La mise \u00e0 jour des connaissances et des \u00e9quipements est \u00e9videmment essentielle, a-t-il soulign\u00e9. Les ateliers connaissent et profitent de la formation offerte par I-CAR, mais sont aussi engag\u00e9s dans les certifications offertes par les constructeurs automobiles. S\u2019ajoute \u00e0 \u00e7a le v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique et hybride. C\u2019est encore une faible part du march\u00e9, mais on constate une acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration de l\u2019adoption de cette technologie sur la c\u00f4te ouest et au Qu\u00e9bec. La question pour nos ateliers est toujours de d\u00e9terminer si les investissements n\u00e9cessaires sont financi\u00e8rement justifiables. Heureusement au niveau du r\u00e9seau, nous pouvons les aider, car nous voyons exactement ce qui est r\u00e9par\u00e9 dans leur r\u00e9gion. Par la suite, nous pouvons les guider dans leurs d\u00e9marches.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Comme le mentionnait d\u2019ailleurs Dean Fisher la carrosserie repr\u00e9sente un service de proximit\u00e9. Les ateliers doivent s\u2019adapter et suivre l\u2019\u00e9volution de la demande et des technologies. C\u2019est le cas par exemple des analyses de donn\u00e9es et des calibrations des syst\u00e8mes ADAS, un processus que CARSTAR veut simplifier et normaliser.<\/p>\n
