Avec pr\u00e8s de 14 000 v\u00e9hicules et le plus grand r\u00e9seau de vente au d\u00e9tail au pays, qui compte pr\u00e8s de 6000 bureaux de poste, Postes Canada reconna\u00eet que son empreinte est importante. La Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 transformera son parc de v\u00e9hicules en un r\u00e9seau de transport sans \u00e9missions, et s\u2019engage \u00e0 \u00e9lectrifier 50 % de son parc d\u2019ici 2030 et 100 % d\u2019ici 2040.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Un avenir durable pour la population canadienne<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u00ab Nous avons la responsabilit\u00e9 envers les Canadiennes et les Canadiens, leurs enfants et leurs petits-enfants, d\u2019aider \u00e0 tracer la voie vers un avenir plus durable, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Doug Ettinger, pr\u00e9sident-directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Le d\u00e9fi est grand, et nous savons que l\u2019\u00e9cologisation de nos transports est essentielle. J\u2019aimerais remercier nos agents n\u00e9gociateurs pour leur engagement continu et leur collaboration \u00e0 cette \u00e9tape importante pour l\u2019entreprise. \u00bb<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Objectif fond\u00e9 sur la science<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Postes Canada s\u2019est engag\u00e9e \u00e0 r\u00e9duire, d\u2019ici 2030, les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre de port\u00e9e 1 et 2 de 50 % par rapport aux niveaux de 2019. Cette cible permettra de maintenir l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9vation de la temp\u00e9rature en de\u00e7\u00e0 de 1,5 \u00b0C dans le cadre de l\u2019initiative Science Based Targets (iSBT), qui vise \u00e0 limiter le r\u00e9chauffement de la plan\u00e8te \u00e0 1,5 \u00b0C par rapport aux niveaux de l\u2019\u00e8re pr\u00e9industrielle. L\u2019objectif de 2030 permettra \u00e0 Postes Canada d\u2019atteindre la carboneutralit\u00e9 d\u2019ici 2050 et sera soumis \u00e0 l\u2019approbation de l\u2019iSBT.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Nos engagements \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard du climat touchent les op\u00e9rations nationales de Postes Canada de multiples fa\u00e7ons. Nous transformerons notre parc de v\u00e9hicules en v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques, moderniserons nos immeubles, construirons des immeubles carboneutres et approvisionnerons nos biens immobiliers et nos op\u00e9rations avec des sources d\u2019\u00e9nergie renouvelable, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Cheryl Hodder, chef des Affaires juridiques et du d\u00e9veloppement durable. Le Centre de traitement Albert-Jackson sera l\u2019un des plus importants \u00e9tablissements du r\u00e9seau national de l\u2019entreprise et permettra d\u2019am\u00e9liorer le service offert lorsqu\u2019il ouvrira ses portes au d\u00e9but de 2023. L\u2019installation ultramoderne de 470 millions de dollars, situ\u00e9e \u00e0 Scarborough, en Ontario, aidera Postes Canada \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre aux besoins changeants de la population et des entreprises partout au pays. La Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 mettra \u00e0 l\u2019essai un v\u00e9hicule \u00e0 basse vitesse sur un itin\u00e9raire postal couvrant des quartiers \u00e0 l\u2019ouest du centre-ville d\u2019Ottawa. Ce v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique compact atteint une vitesse maximale de 40 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 l\u2019heure.
