La situation se pr\u00e9sentait occasionnellement par le pass\u00e9, peut-\u00eatre un dossier sur 20 impliquait un retard dans les travaux \u00e0 cause de pi\u00e8ces en souffrance. Aujourd\u2019hui, ce que me disent les carrossiers, c\u2019est que souvent la moiti\u00e9 des v\u00e9hicules, surtout les mod\u00e8les asiatiques et europ\u00e9ens, doivent dormir dans leur cours, souvent pendant des mois, en attente de pi\u00e8ces. La pand\u00e9mie et l\u2019instabilit\u00e9 politique dans certaines r\u00e9gions du monde expliquent en partie ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne.<\/p>\n<p>Confront\u00e9s \u00e0 cette situation, les carrossiers vont souvent devoir expliquer les d\u00e9lais \u00e0 des clients parfois frustr\u00e9s ou tenter de remettre sur la route les v\u00e9hicules en effectuant des r\u00e9parations temporaires. Chose certaine, ce que me disent les gestionnaires d\u2019atelier, c\u2019est que les assureurs se montrent trop souvent insensibles \u00e0 cette situation. Le remboursement des travaux temporaires, les frais d\u2019entreposage de v\u00e9hicules non carrossables en attente de pi\u00e8ces ou l\u2019allongement des pr\u00eats de voitures de remplacement demandent des n\u00e9gociations ou de compl\u00e9ter de longs formulaires.<\/p>\n<p>En fait, la charge administrative impos\u00e9e aux ateliers de carrosserie atteint des niveaux aberrants. Pas un assureur ne fonctionne selon les m\u00eames plateformes, toutes les demandes exigent un long processus de validation et nos gestionnaires d\u00e9plorent que maintenant plus de la moiti\u00e9 de leur personnel soit occup\u00e9 \u00e0 brasser des papiers.<\/p>\n<p>Ce que j\u2019entends, c\u2019est qu\u2019un estimateur pouvait normalement compl\u00e9ter huit estimations dans sa journ\u00e9e. Aujourd\u2019hui, s\u2019il n\u2019y a pas d\u2019accros, c\u2019est heureux s\u2019il r\u00e9ussit \u00e0 en compl\u00e9ter la moiti\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Facture finale<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Une voiture qui entre et ressort deux fois, trois fois ou encore plus de l\u2019atelier pour faire avancer le travail tout en attendant les pi\u00e8ces manquantes ne sera jamais payante. Un carrossier me confiait que cette triste chor\u00e9graphie occupe un de ses employ\u00e9s \u00e0 temps plein.<\/p>\n<p>Plus d\u00e9vastatrice encore financi\u00e8rement dans ce contexte de p\u00e9nurie de pi\u00e8ces est la politique, adopt\u00e9e par un grand nombre d\u2019assureurs, de ne payer qu\u2019\u00e0 la r\u00e9ception de la facture finale. Cela signifie que le carrossier paie tout de suite des pi\u00e8ces, livr\u00e9es en retard, qui ne lui seront rembours\u00e9es par l\u2019assureur qu\u2019une fois le travail compl\u00e9t\u00e9. Quelle ponction \u00e0 un fonds de roulement d\u00e9j\u00e0 fragilis\u00e9 ! Une pratique encore plus ruineuse quand les d\u00e9lais de livraison s\u2019\u00e9tirent sur des mois \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9chos de cette insatisfaction se font entendre de partout au Qu\u00e9bec. Le nombre de carrosseries diminue, r\u00e9sultat souvent d\u2019un profond d\u00e9couragement, et les survivants doivent g\u00e9rer des volumes accrus. Avec les charges financi\u00e8res et administratives que subit le secteur, je comprends cette d\u00e9plorable situation. Pour plusieurs, r\u00e9parer les v\u00e9hicules de leurs clients est devenue une t\u00e2che secondaire.<\/p>\n<p>Le probl\u00e8me des pi\u00e8ces manquantes ne vient qu\u2019exacerber une situation tendue qui doit imp\u00e9rativement \u00eatre corrig\u00e9e. Il existe pourtant des solutions. La premi\u00e8re est sans contredit d\u2019all\u00e9ger la lourdeur des t\u00e2ches administratives des carrossiers en normalisant et en simplifiant les plateformes et programmes.
