En tant que nouveau mod\u00e8le vedette de la gamme Tundra, le Capstone s\u2019appuie sur les caract\u00e9ristiques de la plus r\u00e9cente mouture de ce camion grand format.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Moteur et transmission<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Une cabine sur\u00e9lev\u00e9e et un camion sur\u00e9quip\u00e9 chauss\u00e9 de roues de 22 po ne signifient pas qu\u2019il faille sacrifier les performances et la t\u00e9nacit\u00e9. Le Capstone est propuls\u00e9 par l\u2019impressionnant nouveau groupe propulseur hybride i-FORCE MAX qui produit 437 chevaux et un couple de 583 lb-pi. Le i-FORCE MAX repose sur un moteur V6 biturbo, mais comporte un moteur-g\u00e9n\u00e9rateur unique dans le carter d\u2019embrayage entre le moteur et la bo\u00eete automatique \u00e0 10 rapports, con\u00e7u pour offrir des performances et une efficacit\u00e9 maximales.<\/p>\n<p>Reposant sur un nouveau ch\u00e2ssis en acier \u00e0 haute r\u00e9sistance enti\u00e8rement caissonn\u00e9, le Capstone a une capacit\u00e9 de remorquage maximale de 4 690 kg (10 340 lb). Lors des applications de remorquage, le syst\u00e8me hybride fournit un suppl\u00e9ment de puissance et de couple moteur, tandis qu\u2019en conduite urbaine, il met l\u2019accent sur une conduite silencieuse doubl\u00e9e d\u2019une efficacit\u00e9 am\u00e9lior\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Sur la route, la puissance lin\u00e9aire et r\u00e9active est au rendez-vous, et l\u2019exploration hors route est encore am\u00e9lior\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce au couple maximal atteint \u00e0 bas r\u00e9gime.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Dispositifs de s\u00e9curit\u00e9<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Comme tous les autres Tundra, le Capstone est \u00e9quip\u00e9 de s\u00e9rie de Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, le syst\u00e8me de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 active de Toyota. Il se compose du syst\u00e8me pr\u00e9collision avec d\u00e9tection des pi\u00e9tons, qui re\u00e7oit de nombreuses am\u00e9liorations par rapport \u00e0 la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, notamment la d\u00e9tection non seulement du v\u00e9hicule qui pr\u00e9c\u00e8de, mais aussi d\u2019un pi\u00e9ton en conditions de faible \u00e9clairage, d\u2019un cycliste de jour, d\u2019un v\u00e9hicule arrivant en sens inverse et d\u2019un pi\u00e9ton traversant aux intersections lors d\u2019un virage.<\/p>\n<p>Aux intersections, le syst\u00e8me est con\u00e7u pour d\u00e9tecter les v\u00e9hicules arrivant en sens inverse ou les pi\u00e9tons traversant au moment de tourner \u00e0 gauche. Il peut aussi \u00e9mettre des alertes visuelles et sonores, et activer le freinage automatique dans certaines conditions.
