La propri\u00e9t\u00e9 sp\u00e9ciale d\u2019un acier \u00e0 haute r\u00e9sistance est telle qu\u2019en cas d\u2019accident, il devient plus fort pendant le processus de d\u00e9formation et peut absorber des niveaux plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s d\u2019\u00e9nergie.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019acier \u00e0 haute r\u00e9sistance est plus mince que la t\u00f4le d\u2019acier conventionnelle ce qui lui permet d\u2019\u00e9conomiser jusqu\u2019\u00e0environ 20 kilos (45 livres) par voiture.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Avanc\u00e9e de l\u2019aluminium<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>L\u2019aluminium est maintenant le deuxi\u00e8me mat\u00e9riau le plus utilis\u00e9 dans les v\u00e9hicules.<\/p>\n<p>Par rapport aux v\u00e9hicules traditionnels en acier, l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019aluminium permet d\u2019\u00e9conomiser l\u2019\u00e9quivalent de millions de barils de p\u00e9trole brut en \u00e9nergie pas ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Et livre pour livre, l\u2019aluminium peut absorber deux fois plus d\u2019\u00e9nergie que l\u2019acier doux.<\/p>\n<p>Le magn\u00e9sium quant \u00e0 lui est surtout utilis\u00e9 pour les jantes, les renforts et autres composantes structurelles.<\/p>\n<p>Il est 33\u00a0% plus l\u00e9ger que l\u2019aluminium et 75\u00a0% plus l\u00e9ger que l\u2019acier. Le d\u00e9savantage est qu\u2019il est inflammable.<\/p>\n<p>Bien que son point d\u2019ignition soit \u00e9lev\u00e9, s\u2019il s\u2019enflamme \u00e0 la suite d\u2019un accident par exemple, il est tr\u00e8s difficile de l\u2019\u00e9teindre.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019utilisation d\u2019eau ne fait qu\u2019attiser le brasier.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>La force du carbone<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La fibre de carbone est un choix int\u00e9ressant, car elle est cinq fois plus forte que l\u2019acier.<\/p>\n<p>Elle est aussi huit fois plus forte que l\u2019aluminium et 1.5 fois plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>Elle est surtout utilis\u00e9e sur des v\u00e9hicules haut de gamme ou pour des renforts.<\/p>\n<p>Il y a d\u00e9j\u00e0 sur nos routes des v\u00e9hicules de production ayant une structure en fibre de carbone.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019utilisation d\u2019acier inoxydable est \u00e9galement en hausse.<\/p>\n<p>Plusieurs manufacturiers utilisent ce mat\u00e9riau pour des sections de la structure qui permettent de r\u00e9duire le poids du v\u00e9hicule jusqu\u2019\u00e0 20\u00a0%.<\/p>\n<p>Sa r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la corrosion est un atout majeur.<\/p>\n<p>Le titane est aussi une option tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante \u00e9tant plus fort que l\u2019acier tout en \u00e9tant 40\u00a0% plus l\u00e9ger.<\/p>\n<p>Bien qu\u2019abondant sur Terre, il est difficile \u00e0 travailler.<\/p>\n<p>La compagnie Icona offre la Vulcano, une voiture faite de titane.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Impression 3 D<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La prochaine r\u00e9volution risque de venir de l\u2019impression 3D.<\/p>\n<p>GM a d\u00e9j\u00e0 exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 la production d\u2019un support de si\u00e8ge 40\u00a0% plus l\u00e9ger et 20\u00a0% plus r\u00e9sistant que la m\u00eame pi\u00e8ce produite de fa\u00e7on conventionnelle.<\/p>\n<p>Le support est compos\u00e9 d\u2019une seule pi\u00e8ce au lieu des huit pi\u00e8ces soud\u00e9es ensemble dans le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 actuel.<\/p>\n<p>La grande tendance est d\u2019avoir un m\u00e9lange de mat\u00e9riaux.<\/p>\n<p>Certaines sections sont en acier, d\u2019autres en aluminium ou encore en fibre de carbone.<\/p>\n<p>Les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de chaque mat\u00e9riau d\u00e9finissent de quoi chaque pi\u00e8ce sera fabriqu\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>On peut penser \u00e0 l\u2019Acura RLX qui a des caissons de porte en acier, mais des panneaux externes en aluminium.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019automobile est toujours en \u00e9volution.
