L\u2019AIA Canada veut mobiliser l\u2019industrie pour sensibiliser les candidats aux \u00e9lections f\u00e9d\u00e9rales de septembre \u00e0 l\u2019importance du droit \u00e0 la r\u00e9paration pour le secteur automobile.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Le d\u00e9clanchement des \u00e9lections signe l\u2019arr\u00eat de mort de deux projets de loi qui auraient pu mener les constructeurs \u00e0 \u00eatre oblig\u00e9s de partager de fa\u00e7on plus limpide les donn\u00e9es des v\u00e9hicules avec les ateliers du march\u00e9 secondaire.<\/p>\n

Les projets de loi C11 et C272 visaient \u00e0 offrir aux consommateurs une protection de leurs donn\u00e9es personnelles et par prolongement, la libert\u00e9 de choisir avec qui ils peuvent les partager.<\/p>\n

Cette campagne \u00e9lectorale met en suspens la campagne de l\u2019AIA sur \u00ab\u00a0votre voiture, vos donn\u00e9es, votre choix\u00a0\u00bb, campagne de sensibilisation qui va \u00eatre recentr\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est en effet sur la notion du droit \u00e0 la r\u00e9paration<\/a> que l\u2019AIA veut maintenant pousser de l\u2019avant en demandant aux gens de l\u2019industrie, et \u00e0 leurs proches, d\u2019interpeller directement les candidats aux \u00e9lections f\u00e9d\u00e9rales sur cette question.<\/p>\n

Droit \u00e0 la r\u00e9paration<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00ab\u00a0La notion du droit \u00e0 la r\u00e9paration est d\u2019actualit\u00e9, a expliqu\u00e9 Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Champagne, pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019AIA Canada, lors d\u2019une allocution film\u00e9e le 24 ao\u00fbt. Les consommateurs comprennent qu\u2019ils devraient pouvoir faire r\u00e9parer leur t\u00e9l\u00e9phone cellulaire ou leur \u00e9lectrom\u00e9nager o\u00f9 ils le souhaitent tout en ayant acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des pi\u00e8ces de remplacement. Mais il faut d\u00e9boulonner le mythe que la partie est gagn\u00e9e dans le secteur automobile. C\u2019est n\u2019est pas facile d\u2019offrir le choix au consommateur alors que l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux donn\u00e9es est de plus en plus complexe. Il faut que les candidats aux prochaines \u00e9lections comprennent cet enjeu.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

En fait, l\u2019AIA Canada appuie cette d\u00e9marche avec des chiffres forts, tir\u00e9s d\u2019un sondage men\u00e9 par la firme au cours des derni\u00e8res semaines par la firme Abacus DATA aupr\u00e8s des automobilistes canadiens.<\/p>\n

Un des r\u00e9sultats percutants de ce sondage indique que 83\u00a0% des r\u00e9pondants souhaiteraient que les constructeurs automobiles soient l\u00e9galement contraints \u00e0 partager les donn\u00e9es des v\u00e9hicules qu\u2019ils mettent en march\u00e9 avec l\u2019atelier du choix du consommateur.<\/p>\n

Un autre r\u00e9sultat indique \u00e9galement que 94\u00a0% des automobilistes souhaitent pouvoir faire r\u00e9parer leur v\u00e9hicule dans l\u2019atelier de leur choix.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Ainsi, peu importe la r\u00e9gion du Canada o\u00f9 ils se trouvent, les consommateurs canadiens souscrivent au concept du droit \u00e0 la r\u00e9paration.\u00a0\u00bb Selon M. Champagne, ces r\u00e9sultats indiquent aussi clairement la confiance des Canadiens envers les ateliers du march\u00e9 secondaire.<\/p>\n

Passez \u00e0 l\u2019action<\/strong><\/h2>\n

La campagne sur l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux donn\u00e9es \u00e9tant mise de c\u00f4t\u00e9 pour l\u2019instant, l\u2019AIA met de l\u2019avant celle qui s\u2019adressera directement aux candidats f\u00e9d\u00e9raux par le truchement du site righttorepair.ca.<\/p>\n

Les signataires peuvent automatiquement trouver les candidats de leur circonscription et leur faire parvenir une lettre type pr\u00e9par\u00e9e par l\u2019AIA et qui pr\u00e9sente l\u2019importance et les diff\u00e9rents enjeux du secteur automobile.<\/p>\n

Comme le conclut M. Champagne, la moiti\u00e9 des \u00c9tats am\u00e9ricains \u00e9tudie pr\u00e9sentement la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019implanter une l\u00e9gislation accordant aux consommateurs le droit de faire r\u00e9parer leurs biens o\u00f9 ils le souhaitent, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse d\u2019une montre, d\u2019un t\u00e9l\u00e9phone intelligent d\u2019une voiture ou m\u00eame d\u2019un tracteur agricole.<\/p>\n
