Nous devons changer la fa\u00e7on dont nous embauchons et encadrons la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de techniciens \u2014 l\u2019avenir de notre secteur en d\u00e9pend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Si nous revenons 20\u00a0ans en arri\u00e8re et que nous trouvons une jeune personne enthousiaste, dot\u00e9e d\u2019un\u00a0app\u00e9tit insatiable pour tout apprendre\u00a0sur la r\u00e9paration des voitures et qui vient d\u2019\u00eatre engag\u00e9e par un atelier de r\u00e9paration, le sc\u00e9nario semble \u00eatre un r\u00eave devenu r\u00e9alit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Un r\u00e9sultat diff\u00e9rent<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Si nous avan\u00e7ons \u00e0 nouveau rapidement, nous d\u00e9couvrons que la m\u00eame personne a pass\u00e9 des ann\u00e9es \u00e0 balayer et \u00e0 laver les sols, \u00e0 laver les voitures et \u00e0 faire la navette avec les clients.<\/p>\n

Leur esprit enthousiaste et leur enthousiasme d\u00e9brid\u00e9 d\u2019autrefois se sont lentement \u00e9teints, les laissant souvent blas\u00e9s et peut-\u00eatre un peu rancuniers. Si ce genre de sc\u00e9nario vous semble familier, il l\u2019est aussi pour moi.<\/p>\n

Vous voyez, c\u2019est quelque chose dont j\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 t\u00e9moin pendant mon propre apprentissage.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 les apprentis m\u00e9caniciens sont cens\u00e9s \u00eatre encadr\u00e9s par des techniciens chevronn\u00e9s afin qu\u2019ils puissent suivre leurs traces, comment se fait-il que tant de ces jeunes gens se retrouvent \u00e0 faire les petits travaux que personne d\u2019autre dans l\u2019atelier ne veut faire\u2009?<\/p>\n

Ne vous m\u00e9prenez pas.<\/p>\n

Je crois fermement \u00e0 l\u2019importance pour chacun de payer son d\u00fb dans notre m\u00e9tier, mais j\u2019entends certains futurs apprentis dire que lorsqu\u2019ils commenceront, ce sera des ann\u00e9es et des ann\u00e9es de travail ingrat et mal pay\u00e9.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est peut-\u00eatre en partie la raison pour laquelle il peut \u00eatre si difficile de trouver de nouvelles personnes pour venir dans notre m\u00e9tier. Et qui peut les bl\u00e2mer\u2009?<\/p>\n

R\u00eaves \u00e9cras\u00e9s<\/strong><\/h2>\n

J\u2019ai entendu tellement d\u2019histoires de \u00ab\u2009futurs techniciens\u2009\u00bb qui ont vu leurs espoirs an\u00e9antis en restant bloqu\u00e9s au rayon lubrification ou en changeant des pneus dans l\u2019espoir d\u2019\u00eatre les prochains \u00e0 b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d\u2019un apprentissage.<\/p>\n

Si l\u2019on ajoute \u00e0 cela le fait qu\u2019aucun d\u2019entre nous ne rajeunit, le tableau est tr\u00e8s d\u00e9courageant pour l\u2019avenir de l\u2019industrie.<\/p>\n

Alors, que pouvons-nous faire\u2009? L\u2019une des fa\u00e7ons de le faire est d\u2019examiner notre propre parcours professionnel et notre exp\u00e9rience d\u2019apprenti.<\/p>\n

Avons-nous re\u00e7u une formation formelle, comme le mentorat d\u2019un technicien du Sceau rouge, ou avons-nous b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 d\u2019un apprentissage plus informel, peut-\u00eatre en suivant un conseiller principal au comptoir\u2009?<\/p>\n

En repensant \u00e0 vos propres exp\u00e9riences, qu\u2019est-ce qui aurait pu \u00eatre mieux fait et qu\u2019est-ce qui, selon vous, doit \u00eatre chang\u00e9 ou am\u00e9lior\u00e9\u2009?<\/p>\n

Sortir des sentiers battus<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Au cours des prochains mois, ce sont des sujets que nous allons aborder en d\u00e9tail.<\/p>\n

Nous allons examiner les moyens d\u2019am\u00e9liorer l\u2019exp\u00e9rience<\/a> de la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de techniciens automobiles afin de garantir l\u2019avenir de nos entreprises et de notre industrie.<\/p>\n

Nous nous tournerons \u00e9galement vers l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur de notre secteur pour d\u00e9couvrir les pratiques r\u00e9ussies mises en \u0153uvre dans d\u2019autres m\u00e9tiers \u2014 peut-\u00eatre pouvons-nous en tirer des enseignements qui peuvent \u00eatre appliqu\u00e9s \u00e0 notre secteur \u00e9galement.<\/p>\n

Enfin, le nombre de jeunes qui s\u2019inscrivent pour devenir apprentis et qui choisissent de travailler dans le secteur de l\u2019entretien et de la r\u00e9paration des v\u00e9hicules n\u2019a cess\u00e9 de diminuer. Il n\u2019a donc jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 aussi important de se demander ce que nous pouvons faire de mieux pour attirer et retenir ces jeunes talents.<\/p>\n

Les futurs gens de m\u00e9tier doivent se rappeler qu\u2019il n\u2019y a pas de stage non r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9 dans notre secteur et que nous avons besoin de sang neuf pour remplacer les techniciens sup\u00e9rieurs qui prennent leur retraite chaque jour.<\/p>\n
