L\u2019exercice vise \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer que l\u2019atelier peut fonctionner m\u00eame si le propri\u00e9taire vend ou prend sa retraite.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Personne ne veut penser \u00e0 la retraite ou m\u00eame \u00e0 vendre son entreprise, souligne M. Cooper. Mais parfois, on se fait surprendre par les circonstances et sans planification, l\u2019entreprise n\u2019aura pas la valeur souhait\u00e9e. \u00bb Il constate qu&rsquo;un propri\u00e9taire mal pr\u00e9par\u00e9 va souvent sur\u00e9valuer son entreprise. La planification, c\u2019est la meilleure approche pour prot\u00e9ger l\u2019entreprise et son \u00e9quipe.<\/p>\n<p>Le propri\u00e9taire voudra peut-\u00eatre transf\u00e9rer l\u2019entreprise \u00e0 sa famille. M.\u00a0Cooper le comprend, mais l\u00e8ve le drapeau rouge. \u00ab\u00a0Les enfants ne sont pas n\u00e9cessairement int\u00e9ress\u00e9s ou comp\u00e9tents pour prendre la rel\u00e8ve, mentionne-t-il. Il faut enlever l\u2019aspect \u00e9motif et comprendre qu\u2019\u00e0 peine 30\u00a0% des entreprises vont survivre \u00e0 la deuxi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Des ann\u00e9es de pr\u00e9paration<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Planifier vendre ou transf\u00e9rer l\u2019entreprise pour en tirer le maximum de valeur est un exercice qui se pr\u00e9pare sur trois \u00e0 huit ans. Avant de penser vendre, il faut faire le m\u00e9nage dans l\u2019entreprise\u00a0: se d\u00e9partir des employ\u00e9s toxiques, \u00e9liminer les services non rentables et \u00e9couler les inventaires sans valeur.<\/p>\n<p>Ensuite, il faut pr\u00e9parer les chiffres. Selon cet expert, la valeur de l\u2019entreprise repose en grande partie sur sa marge de profit. Par exemple, pour esp\u00e9rer vendre un atelier 4\u00a0millions\u00a0$, il faut des profits de 1,2 million annuellement. Ce ratio s\u2019applique, peu importe le prix de vente esp\u00e9r\u00e9. Pour atteindre cet objectif, il faut une strat\u00e9gie de croissance, un effort qui peut s\u2019\u00e9taler sur cinq ans et gravite autour de l\u2019augmentation des ventes, de la r\u00e9duction des d\u00e9penses et dans l\u2019\u00e9valuation pointue du personnel.<\/p>\n<p>Tout nouvel investissement devrait \u00eatre fait avec un objectif de retour sur l\u2019investissement d\u2019au moins 12\u00a0% annuellement. \u00ab\u00a0Si on vise une croissance des ventes de 5\u00a0% par ann\u00e9e, \u00e9liminer tout ce qui n\u2019est pas payant m\u00eame si cela affecte un peu le volume des ventes va non seulement faire entrer plus de profits dans l\u2019entreprise \u00e0 court terme, mais en augmenter la valeur de revente\u00a0\u00bb, d\u00e9taille M.\u00a0Cooper.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Un dossier solide<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Brahm Elkin, du M&amp;A Club, est d\u2019accord avec son coll\u00e8gue pour dire qu\u2019une vente se pr\u00e9pare au moins de deux \u00e0 cinq ans d\u2019avance. En plus de la pr\u00e9paration des \u00e9tats financiers, avec une fiscalit\u00e9 mise \u00e0 jour, il recommande de mettre sur papier une projection des ventes pour les trois prochaines ann\u00e9es. \u00ab\u00a0Car un acheteur potentiel va accorder de la valeur sur le potentiel de croissance de l\u2019entreprise, explique M.\u00a0Elkin.
