The 10th annual Electric Commercial Vehicle Tradeshow (EV2019VÉ) hosted by Electric Mobility Canada (EMC) registered over 400 participants. The international event took place in Quebec City from May 6 to 9.

Dozens of electric mobility experts from across Canada as well as from the U.S., Latin America and Europe, converged upon the conference venue to network, exchange ideas and discuss the latest trends in electric mobility. In addition, over 35 exhibitors also attended to present their products, including opportunities to test drive a number of EV over the course of the event.

Energy Management

Several guest speakers were also present during the four-day event. They covered a wide range of topics including Municipal, Provincial and Federal public transit EV incentives, mobility initiatives in Canada and abroad, as well as ideas and tips on how to integrate EVs in existing fleets. Energy management and smart-charging issues were of particular interest throughout the entire course of the event. While no later than last year, electric mobility stakeholders were trying hard to convince the transportation industry to jump onto the bandwagon, a year later, experts were more interested in energy management issues impacting current EV owners and offering advice to avoid overcharge and manage demand. These issues underline the fact that electric vehicle usage is rapidly becoming mainstream.

Additional conference information will be published in the next issue of fleetdigest. Until then, you can consult the photos below summarizing the event.
