The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali won the Truck King Challenge and Motoring TV’s Truck of the Year awards in recognition of its advanced innovation, features, and technologies.

The Sierra Denali has a 6.2 L V8 coupled with a 10-speed transmission and uses a Dynamic Fuel Management system that allows the engine to be fuel efficient by operating within the full range of one to eight cylinders.

The Sierra also offers the MultiPro tailgate with six unique positions and functions. The MultiPro tailgate offers improved second-tier loading and load-stop solutions.

“It is an honour to be acknowledged by the Canadian press for the 2019 GMC Sierra Denali, our boldest and most innovative Sierra ever,” said Michael MacPhee, brand director for GMC in Canada. “All new from the ground up, the Sierra Denali has established itself as a game-changer both in class-leading capability and revolutionary design.”

The Canadian Truck King Challenge pits 4WD pick-ups against one another and is tested on its abilities to drive 400 km while loaded with 1,000 lbs, towing 7000 lbs and taken off-road. Motoring TV’s Truck of the Year recognizes styling, next-generation upgrades, and advances in the powertrain.  The Sierra Denali’s bold design, segment-leading technologies, and rear tailgate stepladder helped it win both awards.
