The 2019 Toyota C-HR subcompact crossover, which starts at $23,675, is available for delivery across Canada.
The subcompact crossover, which is in its second year of production, has been upgraded with several new features and versions. Standard equipment includes windshield de-icer, large 8-inch touch screen with rear-view camera display, Entune 3.0 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay integration and Smart Device Link. The XLE and XLE Premium infotainment systems are upgraded to Entune Audio 3.0 Plus, while the new Limited version contains all of the XLE Premium standard features as well as leather seating, ambient lighting and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
Toyota Safety Sense, standard on all versions, comprises advanced safety systems including pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, collision alert system with automatic braking, lane departure alert with steering assist,10 airbags and direct tire pressure monitoring system.
The cabin accommodates up to five passengers or a maximum 1031 L behind the front seats. The slim design of the foldable rear seatbacks helps maximize cargo capacity.
Under the hood, the 2019 Toyota C-HR is powered by a 2 L 4-cylinder engine producing 144 hp and 139 lb-ft of torque delivered to the front wheels. The intelligent CVT transmission with sequential mode allows drivers to manually shift a simulated 7-speed sequential gearbox. Sport Mode maintains high engine speed, which enhances acceleration and lets the C-HR’s express its “sportier nature”, according to Toyota officials.
