The Volkswagen e-Golf is coming to Canada in 2017.

VW unveiled an upgraded version of the e-Golf at the Los Angeles Autoshow. With a new lithium-ion battery, energy capacity has been increased by almost 50 percent from 24.2 to 35.8 kWh, resulting in a driving range of up to 200 kilometres or more on a single charge, says the company.

The e-Golf can be recharged in one of three ways:

– by regular household outlet

– by a home or public Level 2 AC charging station

– by public Level 3 DC Fast Chargers, which can charge to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.

The e-Golf will make its Canadian premiere at the Montréal Autoshow in January, at which time complete vehicle details will be available. It will arrive at Volkswagen Dealerships beginning in mid-2017.
