Bill 104, which was created to force new-vehicle manufacturers to raise the sales levels of their zero-emission vehicles, was adopted unanimously by Quebec legislators.

Quebec Environment Minister David Heurtel was extremely pleased by the passing of the Bill, which was tabled to increase the range of electric vehicles available to Quebec consumers.

“Our plan to electrify transportation in the Province of Quebec is a clear demonstration of our leadership, vision and audacity,ˮ declared the Minister. Together, we are moving forward and modernizing our economy, which will be built on innovation and the reduction of our carbon footprint.

Quebec officials pointed out that it is aligning with ten American states, including California and several Northeastern states, representing a third of the American population, which have already adopted zero-emission vehicle legislation. The results of these laws have shown an overall increase in the availability of zero-emission vehicles along with a reduction in price, according to Government officials.
