Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV sets out across Alberta as the program’s “Official Vehicle.”
Peaks to Prairies, an initiative driving the establishment of an EV charging network across southern Alberta, and Calgary-based Mitsubishi dealer, Platinum Mitsubishi, have partnered to introduce EVs to the masses in Alberta.
This EV Showcase is part of an outreach program, with a team of EV experts that will travel to 30 community events in Southern Alberta to talk about EVs.
“Mitsubishi Motors research shows that awareness of EVs and plug-in hybrids is still relatively low,” says Ben Maitland, Platinum Mitsubishi. “We understand that often folks, especially in rural areas, haven’t had the chance to experience what it’s like to drive an EV or ask questions about charging. As the world’s top-selling plug-in hybrid, Outlander PHEV showcases that an electric vehicle can fit your life today from affordability, utility as an SUV, multiple ways to charge and ease of use in electric or gas. With new charging infrastructure and a new federal EV incentive; it’s the right time for Albertans to consider an EV or plug-in hybrid and this program helps them to find out more.”
Peaks to Prairies was developed by Alberta SouthWest Regional Alliance, SouthGrow Regional Initiative, The City of Calgary, City of Lethbridge, City of Medicine Hat and Medicine Hat College. The purpose of the initiative is to establish an EV charging network across southern Alberta.
