Drivers can now locate, reserve, and pay for parking from the in-vehicle touchscreen in the U.S.

Using a new embedded parking capability included in the Cadillac Marketplace, the industry’s first in-vehicle commerce platform, drivers can now find, book and pay for a parking spot before reaching their destination.

“Cadillac’s new parking experience in Marketplace enables drivers to enjoy the journey without wondering where they will park when they reach their destination,” said Scott Goddard, Marketplace Line of Business Leader, Cadillac. “This is another example of how Cadillac is integrating technology that elevates the driving experience.”

The parking capability, powered by ParkWhiz, requires drivers to create an account online or through the ParkWhiz mobile app, select a preferred payment method and provide vehicle details, such as the make, model, and license plate number. Then, using that account through Marketplace, drivers can find nearby parking options to reserve. PArkWhiz offers shows thousands of spaces available in more than 250 cities across the U.S.

“As every driver knows, parking is a core component of the driving experience. In fact, people often spend the same amount of money on parking each month as they do on gas, but with more frequent transactions,” said Dan Roarty, President and COO of Arrive, ParkWhiz’s parent company. “We are thrilled to power parking in Cadillac vehicles, making it simpler for their drivers to reach their destinations.”

Marketplace was launched in December 2017 for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles and is available on nearly 325,000 properly equipped Cadillac vehicles, model year 2017 and onwards. It also works independently of the driver’s mobile device.
