Volvo Cars Canada is adding a 415-horsepower plug-in hybrid electric XC60 SUV, and an all-new V60 mid-sized wagon to the 2020 line-up within the ‘Polestar Engineered’ trim.
The Polestar Engineered trim debuted on the 2019 S60. Much like the S60, both the XC60 T8 and V60 T8 Polestar Engineered have new vehicle designs with upgraded driving elements, such as throttle response, and braking and handling on the T8 Twin-Engine Plug-in Hybrid propulsion system.
The cars also present a boosted powertrain software, which has been optimized to provide faster access to torque (494 lb-ft of torque) and focus on additional power to the rear wheels.
For enhanced suspension performance, Volvo partnered with Öhlins, a Swedish-based advanced suspension technology brand, that pioneered a dual flow valve technology in the struts, which responds quickly to read imperfections. An Öhlins front strut bar increases the rigidity of the car’s body, which allows for more precise and responsive control.
A six-piston brake is visible through the lightweight alloy wheels, which are unique to the S60, V60, and XC60 to provide enhanced airflow to brake discs. It further provides a more muscular appearance and an overall sporty exterior, with a luxurious and comfortable interior.
“At Volvo Car Canada, we are very excited about the addition of the new Polestar Engineered products in our portfolio. Polestar always played a special role in the Volvo business in Canada, as in the last two years we achieved one of the highest levels of Polestar optimized product sales in the world. We plan to fully capitalize on this upcoming opportunity to strengthen both Volvo and Polestar brands in Canada.” said Alexander Lvovich, Managing Director, Volvo Car Canada Ltd
The cars will be available in Canada in Summer 2019.
