Toyota enthusiasts welcome back the Supra 21 years later.

The 2020 Supra made its world debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this month. It is the first global model developed by Toyota’s motorsport program, GAZOO Racing. The car itself is a blend of power, precision and agility, borrowing its sporty architecture and improved-upon features from many previous Toyota models.

The Supra boasts a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that will be capable of producing 335 horsepower and 365 Ib-ft of torque. The car will use a quick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Toyota projects a 0 to 96km/hr acceleration in 4.1 second.

Sporting standard features like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, steering assist and road sign assist, the Supra offers a comfortable and safe experience to all drivers. It uses additional features like rear cross traffic alert, rear end collision warning systems and adaptive full speed cruise control to ensure a smooth ride.

The new-generation Supra offers an 8.8-inch high-definition colour and touchscreen display, to convey information like audio and navigation. Other features that deliver a great connectivity experience are the rotary touch controller, Supra Connect telematics services, wireless Apple CarPlay, a premium 12-speaker JBL audio system, and wireless phone charging.

The Supra will be available in silver, white, black and dark grey. For those interested in the sporty appearance, the car will also be available in bold red, yellow, shades of blue, and matte gray with a hint of blue to create a metal-like texture.

The 2020 Supra will go on sale in Summer of 2019.
