Autosphere » Dealerships » Cadillac Unveils First EV

The new electric Cadillac will be the first step for GM’s future EV platform.

GM announced that Cadillac will be at the forefront of the company’s EV ambition. They will be using a flexible platform to prioritize customer needs.

“Cadillac’s EV will hit the heart of the crossover market and meet the needs of customers around the world,” said Steve Carlisle, president of Cadillac.

Cadillac EV’s drive units will be configured in front-, rear- or all-wheel drive and the output of their battery systems can be changed according to vehicle and customer needs. The car will eventually be redesigned in various styles.

“It will represent the height of luxury and innovation while positioning Cadillac as the pinnacle of mobility,” said Carlisle.

The Cadillac EV’s name and additional details will be revealed closer to launch. There is no news for when this model will be available in Canada yet.
